What are you eating right now?

Three pounds down from Monday. What's come off is obviously mostly water weight at this point because actual body fat loss takes more than a few days to occur. Adipose tissue contains 90% lipids and 10% water. When you begin to lose weight the water content in adipose tissue diminishes before before you finally exhale the metabolized fat as water and carbon dioxide. ;) That said, with a properly functioning metabolism, after the initial water weight loss, losing a pound of fat per week comfortably without going to extremes is possible.

The adjustments I made were an extra 30 minutes of cardio and a daily 1.200 kcal deficit. That means I have been eating currently ca 1.800 kcal per day. Feedings were restricted to six hours between noon and 18:00. I upped my protein intake by about 25% and reduced carbs by 25%. I made no other changes.

As soon as the weight loss from water slows down I may reduce my daily caloric intake to 1,200 kcal. and add carb cycling to prevent the metabolism from slowing down. 1,200 kcal per day is as low as I have ever gone because below that I feel like a soggy rag.

Honestly, if you want to lose a few pounds, and if it doesn't matter what kind of weight you lose and that this is effective only in the short term, I recommend Taco Bell or Chinese takeout. Pablo lost 9 lbs in one sitting that one time! :p




My midday meal consisted of 3 eggs with a little this and that and a chicken thigh and cheese on a slice of whole kernel dark bread and a tomato.

I had a bad experience with someone liking my bare feet a bit too much for comfort. I don't need a repeat. Let's leave it at that. :p
 
I made a juicy barnyard bird for dinner. A 4-pound Mary's free-range chook. I buttered him up, added lemon, rosemary, and other herbs and spices. Yukon gold potatoes, carrots, and onions. I ladled the hot juices repeatedly over the bird. Spring mix and grape tomatoes. Very simple stuff. And no, I don't bother with trussing.

One carb free protein shake (unflavored protein powder - thanks @53' Stude , almond milk, half-half, goat kefir, EVOO, K and Mg citrate, vanilla in the shaker)

And one cup of joe with organic cacao power and cream. No sweeteners.

Two different pickleball venues this AM. On Tues I was getting a bit gassed at the end of the 2nd hour.

Back down to 170. Shooting for 165 at least.

I have not been posting food pics, 'cause fasting and just eggs, small fish, beef or chicken and green veggies, kinda boring for you clowns. :D :poop:

I had/ am having an extreme battle with IR right now, so big guns are out. Laugh at my a$$ if you will. I can't say the exact cause other than suddenly less activity after Italy trip where I consumed a lot of carbs, including some sugar.

Need more vava in my life.

I was out and about this morning. I grabbed a chicken burrito along the way at noon. At least I ate sitting down. After I took this picture I destroyed my phone in a horrible accident. I just ordered a new one which should be arriving tomorrow. Any pictures between now and tomorrow will look terrible because of the severe impact, fire, and water damage to my CAT phone.

 
Iowa pork loin. They get excessive in size here for sure.
I petty much don't order them anymore, unless we are sharing a meal.
I'm old and can't eat much these days.

That's more breading than I eat in a year. It does look like something Steven Seagal would eat.
I had a very obese friend growing up. For a treat now and then, his Mom would drive us 18 miles to the nearest Pizza Hut.

He would order and eat an entire large pizza by himself! That was before they started down sizing the pizzas. Now their large are more like a medium back in those days.

Now the pizza's get smaller, and the pork loin's bigger!
 
I just had two balls of almond-walnut-rum gelato I made last night. The recipe has very low sugar content to begin with but I replaced half of the sugar with inulin which has no off-taste.




I only make small batches of gelato. That way I have room for several flavors in the small freezer at the beach shack.
