What are you eating right now?

This morning breakfast. Courtesy of Costco. Have a meeting in 40 minutes, hope I don't have salami breath.

Rosa's Pizza 🤤

You get a good upside down or Grandma Sicilian here
The pepperoni pinwheels are also top tier
In the Italian tradition of utilizing everything, pinwheels and garlic knots are usually surplus or off cuts of pizza dough
Mustn't waste 🤌
The cheese is under the sauce, but also some on top

After yesterday's excesses, I am back to my usual fare. Trying to eat mostly less-inflammatory foods as inflammation is a cause of and a major contributor to many illnesses in addition to being a strain on the immune system.

Commonly consumed inflammatory foods include sugar, refined carbs, deep-fried foods, red meat, processed meat products, shortening/lard/margarine

Some anti-inflammatory foods are tomatoes, dark green leafy and cruciferous vegetables, walnuts, almonds, pistachios, olive oil, fatty fish, fruit and berries, fenugreek, turmeric/ginger, peppers, celery, beets

As far as protein goes, as already mentioned fatty fish is anti-inflammatory, chicken is less inflammatory than red meat, and while egg protein is also somewhat inflammatory eggs also contain anti-inflammatory compounds. Plant protein is low in inflammatory compounds and bean protein has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. Plant-based protein also lowers the acid load compared to meat and is easier on the kidneys. I used to eat a lot of red meat. I have over the years reduced my red meat intake and replaced it with more fatty fish and plant-based protein.

Trumpet mushrooms, onions, riced cauliflower, tomatoes, spinach, bell peppers, ham, and two eggs.

Nightshades like tomatoes may have some anti-inflammatory effects for some, but there are also those who are allergic to nightshades.

My wife loves tomatoes, but they do not love her. She gets headaches and the Schlitz whenever she eats them; there are also other negative biological effects from the lectins they contain. YMMV

The older I get the less I can tolerate peppers, I just cannot eat the anal fissure special hots any more. Well I can marginally eat bell pepper and now tomatoes............maybe the worst part about aging.

Your body is simply telling you more of the truth. There are two kinds of plants; one needs the benefit of animal fertilizer for its seeds and is therefore sweet on the tongue; the other does not need fertilizer (the plant itself provides the needed nutrients to reproduce) and is therefore “spicy” on the tongue.

Mother Nature knows what she’s doin; if a certain fruit or vegetable disagrees with you, listen to your body! 👍🏻

Yes, somebody could be intolerant of any type of food. There's always something somebody can't tolerate, be it gluten, lectins, casein and what have you not. I'm talking about people who do not have a food intolerance and how they can benefit from certain foods. There's a whole bunch of people out there who based on their own intolerance of a particular food demonize that food in general.

Let me add a disclaimer to my signature! Better not. Some people may think I am accusing them of a lack of common sense.

Patties made with some kind of unendorsed meat, egg, carrots, maitake, onions, and sesame seeds. Served with Mexican rice cauliflower, mixed with spinach and more onion and maitake. Two small tomatoes. Spices not declared.

WARNING! Do not eat this unless you know you tolerate all ingredients. I wash my hands of your timely demise.

I never heard of plant types described like that. Examples of both?
