What are you eating right now?

So after lunch with 4 dates.

2 hour mark: 135
3 hour mark: 130
If you eat the dates with your lunch I would expect your postprandialBG to be higher than it would be without having had the dates. Since you are having a meal your BG is not likely going to go low (ie <70).

Of course.

My point is that 4 dates did not even blow me above 150. Pretty good IMHO.

Honestly the only time in the last little while that any food makes me hit 180 or even above 150 is when I eat out, and I try to be careful. I think more sugar/simple carbs is added do restaurant foods than they let on.

I don't like to eat anything even 3-4 hours before sleepy time, so I'm a bit torn on the dates before sleeping test.

I understand. I do intermittent fasting myself although for a different reason (mTor/AMPK balance, and for the benefits of inducing autophagy). Make the last thing you eat last for a long time. In terms of protein, casein is good because it's digested very slowly. While protein won't drive your BG up much it will have a slight effect. And if you eat something fatty with a couple of dates, the fat will make the carbs from the dates metabolize more slowly. Cheese and a dates seems like a good combo to me. If you can avoid a BG spike in the early morning hours by having some slowly metabolizing carbs earlier it would be a benefit.

I never used milk in oatmeal or sugar from long ago. Yesterday my sugar tanked very badly and is still a bit low so they are not bothering me and my portion size is small.
Honey? People won't use sugar but a half a gallon of honey is assumed to be healthy...nope

Milk grosses me out for many decades and the sugar content is not far from a soda.
Not a lot of people understand your (and my) take on milk. The body doesn't care or try to decipher where a sugar is coming from, it doesn't care and responds the same way regardless. It could be confectioner's sugar, sugar naturally occurring in an orange or rice, or lactose found in milk. They're all simple sugars which elicit an insulin response. At 9 grams of sugar per cup, it's one of the reasons I haven't consumed it as a beverege for at least 15 years.

Cows milk is meant for baby cows...

Mammal milk serves one purpose. Milk is a growth hormone delivery system, rich in fat, carbs, protein, and other nutrients - everything a young mammal needs to maximize its growth potential. We should not drink the milk of another species. I love cheese which is one of my weaknesses. I use milk very sparingly and only in recipes that require it. Maybe a little milk or cream in coffee here and there. An occasional ice cream or hot cacao. I'm okay with fermented milk products in moderation. I've never liked milk and cereal and such things and I would not recommend them to anyone.

I had a very late breakfast for lunch because of my screwed-up work schedule. I really wanted a ginormous bratwurst with the kraut but I'm a very disciplined eater so I opted for sardines instead. Not that there's anything wrong with sardines. I quite like them - although, I do prefer a bratwurst. When it comes to unhealthy foods, I live vicariously by watching others. Did any of you ever watch Amy and Tammy the 1000-lb sisters?
