What are you eating right now?

Wow! We're from different worlds. I started cooking - simple things - when I was about 6 years old. My dad and I would have breakfast together on the weekend while everyone else was still asleep, and he'd show me how to make different types of eggs, French toast,
hot cereals, and so on. My mom taught me a few things as well, and there are a couple of dishes she showed me that I still make today.

It's very freeing to know how to prepare at least a few simple dishes and be able to take care of yourself in that way.
That sounds like a great thing. See the problem is my mom works in a kitchen so she never feels like cooking which is understandable. And me and my dad are admittedly picky. That’s why we resort to eating out most of the time. That and none of us can all agree on one thing. My dad knows how to use a grill and crock pot that’s about all I’ve ever seen him do as far as cooking. I know how to bake a lot of things because they have instructions so I just read them. I could probably figure out how to cook but restaurant food just taste so much better to me. None of us in my family except my sister has a cooking gift.

Sorry @AutoMechanic 😟😟
Here now.. 😂😂😆

All the more reason to pitch in, it gives her a much deserved break from preparing meals. Furthermore, you can experiment a little, to add a healthier variety to your meals. The possibilities are endless with a grill and slow cooker, maybe dad could make the main course and you can focus on the sides, this way you're not overwhelmed to make an entire meal on your own.

Trust me, when your mom gets a break she won't be fussy, she'll be content just on the fact that someone else cooked for her, instead of the other way around. You can do it!

Not everyone is born to be a Renaissance man but basic cooking is an essential skill.

Left over Chinese food from last night. This was my parents leftovers as I finished all of mine. Having this as a midnight snack. Ready to feast tomorrow lol. Mom is baking the pies now and grandma and the rest of the family will be doing the rest of the food lol. We are going back to my work town tomorrow to go to grandmas.

We ate at Red Robin before Saturday evening church.

It was utterly disgusting and the place was filthy. My wife ordered some chicken thing. I warned her. It looked like freezer burned road kill.

I ordered Blue Ribbon burger sans bun. I think it escaped from that movie The Tire

Wife picked up the pepper grinder and the whole mechanism and all the pepper corns dumped on her chicken whatever

I don’t feel so good

They have really went downhill. Their first strike for me was doing away with cantaloupe on the menu. Second and third was we went there I think it was Wednesday or Thursday because me and my mom were supposed to get free burgers since this is our birthday month. Well the email didn’t have a coupon or anything it was just saying we get a free birthday burger and she is like I can’t accept that because it’s not printed out. So we walked out. Luckily they asked to see it before we ordered. Never going back. It was good when I was a kid but not anymore. I still hold my grudge because of them not having cantaloupe anymore lol. They done away with it because apparently someone got sick off of non ripe cantaloupe served by them according to what the manager at the time told us. It was so much nicer eating a bunch of cantaloupe instead of a bunch of fries.
