That sounds like a great thing. See the problem is my mom works in a kitchen so she never feels like cooking which is understandable. And me and my dad are admittedly picky. That’s why we resort to eating out most of the time. That and none of us can all agree on one thing. My dad knows how to use a grill and crock pot that’s about all I’ve ever seen him do as far as cooking. I know how to bake a lot of things because they have instructions so I just read them. I could probably figure out how to cook but restaurant food just taste so much better to me. None of us in my family except my sister has a cooking gift.Wow! We're from different worlds. I started cooking - simple things - when I was about 6 years old. My dad and I would have breakfast together on the weekend while everyone else was still asleep, and he'd show me how to make different types of eggs, French toast,
hot cereals, and so on. My mom taught me a few things as well, and there are a couple of dishes she showed me that I still make today.
It's very freeing to know how to prepare at least a few simple dishes and be able to take care of yourself in that way.
