What are you eating right now?

Chinese food. It’s always nice when it’s Friday and you get Chinese to close out the week. Not the Chinese place I wanted in particular tonight but the family was visiting and overstayed their welcome lol. So we didn’t get to get anything till around 9 so this was the only place open. And I even convinced the parents to eat it too haha. I’ll try and talk them into it again tomorrow and Sunday as well. This is truly the only food besides steak and Chipotle that Foodles
The rich got richer...

Early breakfast: English muffin toasted well and very crispy with a slice of sharp cheddar cheese between the halves, coffee, and sparkling mineral water.

Do you ever cook for yourself? If so, what do you cook?

Very rarely. And when I do it’s because someone is gone for awhile and I don’t want to drive anywhere. I cook things like eggs, ravioli or grill me a steak that’s about all I can cook.
You can learn. It's not hard.

Stop being so lazy, which a lot comes from lack of vigorous exercise and blood sugar spikes from your terrible diet.

Then save every nickle move your keyster out of your parent's house.

@AutoMechanic can move next door to a Chinese restaurant!

My Ex owned 3 Chinese restaurants that she eventually sold/retired. (Why I call my daughter #1 Girl as in Charlie Chan movies ).
What you're eating isn't really Chinese food. Believe me, you wouldn't eat the stuff on the "Chinese Menu" that the higher end restaurants have.
I really got tired of what I called "Chicken Took a Bath Soup" and Fish Gut Surprise.
All behind me for 20 years now, except I will always have #1 Girl.

While I'm no pro, I found i really enjoy cooking. It helps me deal with all the garbage I bring home from work but I found the biggest joy in it is cooking foe my family. Girls dig a guy who can cook, I suppose this is one of the redeeming qualities my wife sees in me.....

One thing I am interested in doing this year is taking cooking classes with my youngest. Never too old to learn something new and I really enjoy sharing the kitchen with my kids.

Maybe AM is putting us on? He might be showing us what his 600-pound-wife is eating. How would we know?

Don’t laugh it off AM, lots of wisdom here.

Nobody is suggesting that you should cook like Justin Wilson on your first try or be moved out by next Friday. Aside from the health and taste benefits of cooking at home, it saves money as well. I can’t imagine eating almost every meal out or to-go. Your body in 25 years will thank you.

Are you saying you can't bake a potato, steam some veggies, put a chicken thigh under the broiler and add some BBQ sauce to it?

since I am type 2 and been experimenting the last month or so with more exercise and less medication, today I have not ate anything.. I did drink a protein shake... its not much fun, but my penchant for having fun eating and drinking too much is why I have blood sugar problems now.. :)

Never done any of these so I’d have to research it first.
Wow! We're from different worlds. I started cooking - simple things - when I was about 6 years old. My dad and I would have breakfast together on the weekend while everyone else was still asleep, and he'd show me how to make different types of eggs, French toast,
hot cereals, and so on. My mom taught me a few things as well, and there are a couple of dishes she showed me that I still make today.

It's very freeing to know how to prepare at least a few simple dishes and be able to take care of yourself in that way.
