I'm out to eat at Gino's, 5th Ave in Bay Ridge
For the post wake dinner of my Grandfather
Mine was Chicken Franchese, with roasted potatoes
In the background is Orecchiette with Broccoli Rabe/sausage
And a broiled filet of sole, with rigatoni
One of his favorite places![]()
Looks good, except for the tomato. I know it is not that time of year, but homegrown fresh garden tomato would make a big difference.View attachment 139196

Looks good, GON! What is in the lower RH corner? Some type of salmon or tuna and sauce?
That I could do! I'm no sushi fan, but my Granddaughter loves it, so we go there often. (20 mile drive, but she drives)JD, just sent me yogurt with a couple pieces of fruit on top.
Looks interesting. I may whip up something similar.Salmon wrap

I can eat sushi and not go hungry, but from Iowa I prefer a good steak, burger or tenderloin. Have you ever had a tenderloin in Iowa?
Someone has a best tenderloin in the state every year. Probably the pork producers. I have eaten at 3 of them, all fairly local.
Best to hit them late summer or fall, when fresh garden tomato's are available!
