What are you eating right now?

Not at all, I get tons of fat. Just that set up seemed a little too fatty in an overload kind of way. I don't really eat butter so to see it used so liberally as an actual component in the plate as opposed to a condiment usually used sparingly, it just seemed like a plate of food that would upset my stomach is all. I also watch my salt so that chunky Kosher looking salt was too much for me also.
The plate is 7.5" OD so it's not that much really. Certainly not an overload. Only a bit of salt really, because butter is fresh unsalted and paneer cheese is made with vinegar not salt. It was very delicious, very satisfying and I ate it at around 10AM and won't be hungry until tomorrow AM. But if it's something you don't like then fine, no problem.

I don't think I've gone one day over the last 15 years where I didn't eat some cheese ... I buy it by 2 lb blokes. It was tongue in cheek, a joke ... and you joke around all the time so why can't others?
I laughed at your comment.

For me, I post pics of meals I eat but never try to push my food ideas on anyone. That's one of the things I like about the food thread is to see just how diverse it is among all of us. Some people don't eat vegetables and just take supplements to try to fill the gap, fine with me. Some peeps clearly can't cook and resort to fast/convenience food daily. Fine with me. I eat the way I do because I like what I'm eating, how it makes me look, feel, perform, and how my blood panels look etc. I eat all the things that Pablo believes are terrible (beans, grains, rice, potatoes, pasta) and my body has always done well on them. Maybe because I'm a smaller active guy and don't overeat any one thing and my meals are pretty balanced from a protein/fiber/starch standpoint, my weight and BMI has remained pretty static for years.

I also still believe and always will that slamming down animal fats day in and day out isn't good for my heart. So I don't eat that way. But have no problem with others that believe it's a healthy approach. There was a time in my life where I'd essentially drop carbs for 2 months leading up to summer. I'd take two huge chugs from a bottle of MCT oil every night before bed to quell the hunger, then do fasted cardio for 45 minutes upon waking. I got super lean but it was a means to an end goal for a short time, I wouldn't want to live my everyday life like that. Carnivore wouldn't work for me and my lifestyle but I appreciate what it's done for people that follow it for their own reasons:)(y)

Too right!

Some folks do well on high carb. Some of us certainly don’t. I’m in the latter group. I process protein (meats) and fats exceptionally well and it makes me feel like a million bucks. Grains even wreck my skin and cause dermatitis patches on my face. As soon as I stop eating them, my skin heals and practically glows.

If a single eating methodology worked for everyone, we would all be in amazing physical shape. Hormonal and digestive implications change what works for one and not the other.

It's not that I didn't like it sir, just something I wouldn't think of putting together. Very interesting(y)

Absolutely

When I get on my horse please don’t take it as me telling others what they should eat. It’s closer to me being excited about finding out what works and indeed me finding out how different people are.

I have to think beans don’t cause glucose spikes in everybody but they do in many like me and they don’t know it. But processed cereals and white rice in most every one. Bread is worse than potatoes for some and opposite for other people. Just some examples. This is all pretty amazing and relatively new science.

Pretty much everything causes my BG to spike so it’s rather raw to me. Sorry about that.

I came home and cooked a big pan of Lebanese style chicken with lemon, za'tar, sumac and garlic. I'm also going out in a limb and having about a half cup of quinoa in the salad. Finger stick and glucose reading in about an hour.

Can you get collard/mustard/turnip greens at regular supermarkets in Everson?
Jealous...can't find them anywhere near me:(
That seems odd. Yes even Safeway has them. What stores are near you? Safeway and Whole Foods in Canada(?)

We buy from Canada grocery stores (Beaver Co-op, Izumiya, Super Store, etc) But no greens can come with us.

I've got Save-On, Whole Foods, Urban Fare, No Frills all nearby. Perhaps a local indy produce shop will have them but they're certainly not on offer everywhere☹
