Not exactly the same scenario, but when my current house was being built, the subdivision didn't have cable - I think they finally ran it out there 2 years after I closed. For TV one could either put an antenna in the attic (HOA = no roof antenna) or get a satellite dish.

The builder would plant a mailbox at the street about a week before closing, and that was a signal to the local satellite TV seller to camp out in front of the new house to try to get the owner to sign up for service. He caught me coming home from work 3 times before he finally got the hint that I wasn't interested.

I came to the house settlement day and they were waiting for me
I get my no soliciting sign today..
They are all rip offs too

Yesterday a guy knocked on the door and handed me a tiny American flag and tried to sell me a $4000 water treatment system and said he is coming in to test my water..
He asked if there would be a better time and I said this time next week.
Of course I won't be here and I'm done with these scammers and the city.

Even the electric company tried to sell me everything and warranties.
The only reason I answered the door because I thought I had to sign for parcels.. but that's over

I love the Sausage 'n Egg McMuffin so found a butcher that sells round sausage patties and then bought one of those round silicon things you can put in the pan - you crack the egg and it cooks it in the round shape. I usually don't bother with the bun but an English muffin does nicely if you want. Very quick and easy.

Fires keep growing and lots of dry grass and vegetation.

Finishing yesterday's dinner, went out and I got some lo mein noodles that were really good but couldn't finish. Early lunch while I try to recover. Did an oil change this morning but by the end of the 30 minute job I was through wrenches and utterly mad. Only 80F but 80% humidity if not higher. For some reason that just set me off... not good as I was hoping to bike today! Not shaping up to be a good day.

Did go see the new Spiderman movie yesterday as a family. I wasn't enthused about going to a theater but it wasn't bad, even had reclining seats. Movie was good too (I'm not huge on the super hero thing, or movies in general).
