I came to the house settlement day and they were waiting for meNot exactly the same scenario, but when my current house was being built, the subdivision didn't have cable - I think they finally ran it out there 2 years after I closed. For TV one could either put an antenna in the attic (HOA = no roof antenna) or get a satellite dish.
The builder would plant a mailbox at the street about a week before closing, and that was a signal to the local satellite TV seller to camp out in front of the new house to try to get the owner to sign up for service. He caught me coming home from work 3 times before he finally got the hint that I wasn't interested.
I get my no soliciting sign today..
They are all rip offs too
Yesterday a guy knocked on the door and handed me a tiny American flag and tried to sell me a $4000 water treatment system and said he is coming in to test my water..
He asked if there would be a better time and I said this time next week.
Of course I won't be here and I'm done with these scammers and the city.
