What are you doing right now?

Sitting here drinking my coffee. Yesterday a funky cloud passed overhead, we got tornado warnings on our phones like crazy. The cloud moves north, things darken and we get more warnings. No word if any touched down but there were funnel clouds. A small resort village north of us got 3" of rain and golf ball sized hail. The place began to flood out.

This system miraculously moves back but around us. There were some funnel clouds to the east but thankfully nothing hit us. While you can repair hail damaged roofs and vehicles, it does a number on horses.

But, the wind picked up and it cooled off, which made for decent hot tub weather last night.

Today, the sun is shining, slight breeze and perfect weather to cut some grass, water the garden and maybe shoot some gophers.

Got the sisters A/C fixed, took a grand total of about 2 minutes once the panels were off. One of the crimp connectors on the main contactor were cooked, looks like a factory crimp so just a factory defect, verified current draw after fixing it was within normal range. So the HVAC company wanted $800 to make a 14AWG wire crimp.....

Raised the US Flag this morning. Just puttering around. Drink water guys. Not beer, not pop or soda or whatever you call it, drink water. A niece called and wanted to rub in that she is correct about weather. I pointed out that the record temp for today's date was set back in 1872 and how does that add up in your theory? She hung up on me!

We are going around to all the Ace Hardware stores for the 50% off sale. They do it on 4th of July and New Year’s to clear old stock. There is a few restrictions like can’t use it on Big Green Egg or Stihl or Yeti but everything else pretty much goes. As far as I know it’s just the local Ace chains here. I’m trying not to buy stuff but it’s hard when they have soap, deodorant and tools for half off lol.

Out in the garage in the 100° heat getting my headlights cleared up. 3M kit is pretty good except the finishing pad needs to be a bit more durable or they need to include two or more of them in the kit. One barely got the job done. I had to break out my random orbital and cutting pad to finish up the polishing before clear coating.

Not sure how long it'll last, it's in the garage as often as possible, but they sure look better for now. The area above the orange marker was badly sunburned.

I would bet that DoorDash is paying premiums on the 4th and lots of people will pay extra to have someone deliver the items they forgot or ran out of. Make $$ to deliver ketchup or mustard and buns 2 or 3 miles is a good use of time for some people. SD says she expects to make at least $250 today in NOVA.

That’s a good idea too. I just wish it wasn’t so hot out. DoorDash sent me a heat warning for my area saying make sure to stay hydrated and follow guidance on heat.

Fired up the Big Analog System. Spinning LP's on the VPI TT and A/T ART9 cartridge. Carver M500t power amp. Emotiva Full analog XSP-1 Preamp, all driving my Magnepan 1.7's (Maggies) and Polk Sub. A rainy day here so no static on the LP's. 😊
First LP is The Cars "Heartbeat City" MFSL version

Will list more in the what are you listening to thread

A few of us here can tell you from personal experience that a young man in his 20s can handle the heat quite well. Drink water continuously, use the AC in your car, and don't exert yourself physically 'cause there's no bad guys on the other side of the berm, son. You'll just be carrying some food from the car to the door.

It’s 101 degrees. Might be a few orders. If we go home and I can get my car I might do it some. I know we are supposed to grill here soon.
