I had an inquiry from someone. Already was a bit odd due to “trucker” but he said he was driving through and wanted to see the car. Red flags up, but he said can he call me…
(Okay calling historically has eliminated all scams)
Guy calls me, and it’s just an odd conversation. French Canadian accent. Keeps asking the same question about “what is the condition of the vehicle”. I said it’s all detailed in the listing but it’s impeccable…so he repeats “yes but I’m calling to check what is the condition of the vehicle”.
Im suspect at this point but reservations due to accent..
He wants to negotiate $100 off. Yes $100. Then says he wants to call his wife if price is okay. Then texts me saying it’s a surprise for the wife. I text saying you just told me you’d call your wife? Says some odd thing how it’s for him, but surprise for her and now would I accept a cashiers check since it’s finished driving through and can’t stop anymore. (Here comes the scam…)
None of it made sense. Called him back a number of times and he pretends to not hear me and then texts instead saying driving.
Then stopped responding to me as I was trying to bait him to call back and ask him a totally off topic question. 95% sure it was an ai voice call though.
Anyone ran into this yet? I guess more things to now have to consider in life…
