What are you doing right now?

I’m just riding around with my parents. I’ve been super stressed this week because we have been slow at work and I don’t know how I’m going to pay all my bills when my account is already over. I applied for a loan at my credit union and they told me make that account positive there and reapply and I’d be approved. Did that and got declined then tried for a smaller amount and still declined. My main bank is over as well and won’t help me. Unfortunately looks like I’m going to have to resort to a NetCredit loan because it’s the only help I can get despite the astronomical interest rate. It’s either that or sell prized possessions that I don’t want to sell.

Stop buying stuff you don't need. If you need to get a loan to live and pay the required bills, something is going wrong.

Looks like it but unfortunately can’t make any money with these gas prices and low tips it seems.
If you have the DoorDash Crimson Visa Debit Card you can earn 10% cash back on gas, and weekly rewards of up to $15 are available for those who drive at least 125 miles per week. You just have to have the immediate payout to the Crimson Card then use the Crimson Card to buy your gas.
Don't know about your area, but I've been doing 3-4 hours in my area and netting $100 - $125 a day after gas. DC suburbs though - lazy Civil Servants want to sit at home.

First of all....Good luck on sorting this out! I'm no financial guru by any means.....But I've been a mechanic for awhile now & you have to be prepared for the ebb & flow in your paycheck when you're on flat rate!

I actually haven’t bought anything just been battling slow work and work that screws a flat rate tech.
Is everyone on flat rate at that shop? If not, maybe think about going salary if flat rate isn't cutting it. Or look for a job that pays a decent salary.

It's none of my business, but I'm going to say it.

You're constantly posting about stuff you buy which are not necessities. Generous gifts for friends, eating out for almost every meal, etc.

That's all great. But when you run out of money because of your spending habits, and are then looking to those Usury payday loan type places, something has to change.

I'd reevaluate where and how you spend your money.

Good luck.

I’ve cut back on those gifts a lot though he keeps buying me some which is fine cause it’s not my money in that case. And yeah I do eat out some but most of the time I’m not the one picking up the tab though unless it’s lunch during the work week occasionally but I haven’t ate out at lunch in two weeks.

@AutoMechanic Did you sell the Beetle yet?

I can’t imagine being flat rate…
I’m thinking of listing that this weekend when I can get some good detailed pictures in the day light. I hate too but I’ve honestly lost interest in any type of project car ever since I began turning wrenches for a living 7 years ago now. My dad thinks I’m crazy but I say free up the space and get some cash because the car is just loosing value sitting there.

The only guys that aren’t is express techs and the 82 year old mechanic and two guys that are like back shop express with an occasional brake job or state inspection plus oil changes. I’m hoping business picks back up. Usually May is not slow but we are in a college town so I guess all the college kids are going back home and everything.

Not sure I have seen an 82 year old Mechanic - but we have a guy who’s 75 with his own alignment shop - he’s like 5’10” and 170# like he was for decades …

Are there little things you can do like packing your lunch with a sandwich, chips and a soda, avoiding the vending machine at work, don’t buy crap in gas stations and convenience stores, quit going out to eat everyday.. .

I do pack everyday. I’m about to eliminate sodas at work or at least cut down on them because the price has skyrocketed on those too.

I’m glad to see work is busy today. My coworker got me a $50 Walmart gift card since I’m in a bit of a bind with bills I said thanks that will help me get some dog food and maybe a few things for lunches next week. At least I’ll be over 80 hours because I already am and my friend gave me $200 loan so now I’m actually staying positive and a good mindset.

Lesson learned?
Pay off the insidious debt first. Then all the debt.
Is there ANY reason you can't save 20% of every check? There is NO reason. Because there is NOTHING more important than saving money. NOTHING.

PAY YOURSELF FIRST
