What are you doing right now?

Just checking in to get my daily episode of The Adventures of @AutoMechanic and Family in Fragrance Land!
Planning to buy some Davidoff Cool Water cologne to match the deodorant my friend got me. And I got a bunch more stuff on the way from eBay because coworker gave me a eBay gift card for helping with his car so I ordered Brut Musk cologne and Brut Musk spray deodorant as well as some collectible Speed Stick and got my buddy a thing of Polo Red since he got me all that stuff. And I got me a Polo Blue deodorant stick and I’ll get the cologne here soon. I’m not a fan of spray deodorants but I really miss musk scent so I decided to give the Brut spray deodorant a try as I couldn’t find the stick. Also ordered some now discontinued Avon for Men Musk deodorant to try as well.

Try to track down some Blue Stratos.
Somehow I think it'll be right up your alley😉

I just picked up fajitas. My parents went to eat without me at the new Mexican place so I told them they had to buy me the fajitas and a bag of cheese or pay for cheese there lol. I meant it as a joke but they actually did so that’s nice lol. I’d rather eat at home anyway I hate eating in restaurants. I worked late there was a salesman who needed some work done cheaper than the shop will do it for lol.

Just watched "Finding Alby Mangels" on YouTube. (ABC Australia)

He was a true pioneer in the adventure travel genre. I followed his adventures through "Adventure Bound" on the Travel Channel. (When it was actually about travel!)

It's funny how the masses can love you, then turn on you,...then love you again.

Looking at places for vacation or at least to go for day trips. I have a few places picked out. My vacation is in July and I’m excited it’s much needed lol. I’ve been working my tail off to get these credit cards paid down. And don’t worry I only bring one stick of deodorant and one bottle of cologne on vacation lol 😆. If I stay at a hotel I’ll probably ask for some there though cause the last place had this good smelling roll on deodorant lol.

Reading more updates on the Nancy Guthrie case. Getting kind of boring though cause it’s the same information being thrown around. Also eating hot dogs 🌭 for dinner. My parents asked me why I’m so into the Nancy Guthrie case I said I just need something to stop me from looking at deodorant on eBay and clicking buy lol 😆. Also I’m looking for a local taxi company for my friend there aren’t many around anymore unfortunately and he takes one but they only have two drivers and are always busy and I hate Uber and Lyft because they put the small companies out of business.

Enjoying retirement, which translates to whatever I want! And loving every minute of it!! ;)
A close friend posted on Facebook last night that he used to like his job but the last couple of years have him dreading Monday morning on Sunday evening.

I'm still debating whether to pull the cord now or give it more time. But, in my case, I've been dreading Monday morning for years now... :D

If you can afford to do it go for it! I'm never bored, and there's always something to do if I want something to do. The one thing we have no control over is when our time is up. Yea some people love their jobs, kudos to them, mine was getting tiresome and I was getting tired. Now that I'm retired my only regret was not retiring sooner. As an added bonus I do occasionally have the opportunity to work, if the job is right and the weather is bad I might take it. ;)

I was just telling the wife this. There are people who don't retire because they "won't know what to do" with themselves. Almost mind boggling really. We were discussing people whose identity is work. That's not at all healthy, IMHO.

You nailed it!! I know several people that get bored fast and are always running around, because they can't stay home or find something to do. A life long friend now in his late 70's retired about ten years ago, he's single and has quite a bit of money. About nine years ago he was offered a position with the company he retired from minus his benefits. He is now signing his tenth one year contract to continue working. He can't stand being home. He doesn't travel and is now working six days a week just to get out.

My wife retired about three years ago and can find things do it all day long. I feel sorry for people who can't amuse themselves and are constantly running around because they don't have a hobby, and/or can't find things they enjoy doing. You're right it's mind boggling and unhealthy!!!

I was dreading Monday mornings for the last few years before I retired. For most of my 31 year career as a Photoshop retoucher I really enjoyed going into work every day though. But it was definitely time for another chapter. Now in my retirement I’m really enjoying my part time job as a Niagara tour guide. I never dread going into work now (in fact it doesn’t feel like “work” at all, it’s just another fun day meeting new people) ☺️

I'm definitely *not* one of those people. :D

I had an almost 2-year hiatus from corporate work when my I/T job spit me out and I found out that, technology-wise anyway, I zigged when I should have zagged as far as technical skills went. Oracle was the big name and I was just starting to learn it, but didn't have enough knowledge to pull off being a DBA in Oracle. I used to joke that the time was my "trial retirement" period. And I have to say, I enjoyed it.

Anyway, back to the original thread, already in progress.
