What are you doing right now?

I am just winding down for the night. Supposed to snow till 6pm tomorrow then after that it’s supposed to be ice and freezing rain. It’s also very cold here. I already have one extra blanket on my bed that I’ve been using but I have the other one ready just in case.
 
Right now I’m running around the house trying to find sources of heat. I came back from my girlfriends place to find the house was only 16 degrees C, the furnace is broken 🥶 There are now two electric fireplaces going along with three space heaters and two of the burners on the gas stove. So far it’s raised the temperature to 18C

I can’t get in touch with my ex wife to find out if she has any warranty contracts for the furnace. The problem will be getting anyone to come fix it during the upcoming storm (due to begin here tomorrow morning around 6 or 7 am and lasting 24+ hours)
 
Sitting on my porch drinking a can of sparkling water. Just got back from a 6-ish mile prowl along back roads after dark.

You may have to leave the faucets trickling and take to a lifeboat. Is there somewhere you can go if the temp inside drops?

Not really because I have my dog here and he doesn’t play well with other animals so I couldn’t take him to my girlfriend’s place as she has two cats

The 3 space heaters and two electric fireplaces are currently getting the job done for now (I turned off the gas stove burners after about an hour of running them) The temperature is now 21 in here on the main level and I have one of the space heaters in the 2nd floor bathroom to keep those pipes from freezing up

It is forced air and by some miracle it started working again in the last couple of hours while I was asleep!

Mr Brown does look sweet but he has an aggressive side with people he doesn’t know. He actually viciously attacked a contractor working on the kitchen of this house. It was the guy’s fault though. Mr Brown was lying on the ground beside a compressor this guy had and the guy turned it on when the dog was asleep. 🤦‍♂️ The man needed many stitches in his leg and he never returned to finish the job (and he sued my ex wife and won so her insurance company had to pay this idiot)
 
I forgot to mention that I have a habit of making wishes when I see the clock say 2:22 or 11:11 (I was born at 2:22am) and last night at 2:22am I wished that the furnace would fix itself. I should’ve wished for 5 million dollars! 🤪
 
I’m sitting here drinking a cold Baja Blast and waiting on the people to get up so we can have breakfast. So far we are up to 13 inches of snow with heavy snow/ sleet still falling here. Many wrecks have been reported on the interstate including one fatal in the northern part of the state. I’m not one to stay home much but I’m not risking it. We almost rolled last night doing DoorDash because of the ice. With the temperature as low as it is the brine or salt or whatever they use these days is ineffective until the temperature rises.
