What are you doing right now?

It's been awhile. She said I'm not doing this hospice stuff... Very rare to survive an aortic dissection let alone at her age....

They can't do anything for her but she's looking for a rehab facility as she has been off her feet for a good while. Hoping to be home before Xmas....taken today....88 years old and a master of the cell phone...texting etc and still runs her own custom cork apparel business.
She makes it all by herself

Praying for her, hope she makes it.

Trying to enjoy lunch. It’s a bit loud in here with the guys refinishing our floors. This time they have the bathroom blocked so we have to walk outside and go around to sales for the bathroom because the break room is also blocked in this section of the shop lol.

I replaced the Clutch Master Cylinder in my 2005 CR-V this year with an Exedy but it was junk and has never worked right. I've spent some time looking for parts and found an online dealer in Vancouver that has good prices (way, way better than the local dealer will do) and shipping is cheap.

All OEM for me this time and I'll do it sometime over the holidays. I'm getting:

Master and Slave Cylinder
Release Fork Boot
Flex hose and front hard line (back one is discontinued)
Clutch Pedal Pin, bushing, and clip
An extra pin to retain the hydraulic line to the master cylinder
A couple of the little pad pedal stoppers

I already replaced the reservoir last time. This is pretty much all I can replace with parts that are available. Most of the cost is in the cylinders and hydraulic lines. Total $789.79 CAD, with shipping and taxes, which is $569.44USD. Actually not bad at all for OEM parts on this. I'm looking forward to getting that OEM feel back!

I just finished my second hour long ride on the exercise bike. I thought that I'd be a lot more sore after riding it for the first time yesterday, but it wasn't so bad. Might need to get some padding for this seat, though. The best thing about it is that my knee didn't even give me a twinge.

One thing that I've noticed is that it seems like way more work to get my heart rate up on the bike than it is walking at a good pace. Is that typical? Never cycled as a workout before.

You need to crank up the resistance. Do a ride that is burning and you barely make 30 minutes every other ride along with your 60 minute rides. Still though very excellent!

I’m on lunch break at work. Went out and cleaned off dad’s Buick which is in the parking lot. Got all the snow off the windows and turned it around. Been sitting there for awhile lol. He alternates between it and the Escape since I drive the RAV4 now. It’s due for a state inspection so I’ll get some new wipers as those are torn and then I’ll do a state inspection sometime this month or have one of my coworkers do it. I can do it on his car since it’s not in my name but I cannot inspect my own car.

More like… what was I doing last night after work? …Replacing the battery in the new-to-me 2020 Avalon. Judging by the manufacturer date on the “Toyota 84 Month” battery, it only lasted three years. This also means the original battery lasted about that long. I went to Sam’s on the way home and bought one of their Duracell-branded batteries.

Maybe it was short tripped a lot in it's previous life or had a good amount of parasitic draw. It might stay alive longer than the last one if you put the charger on it periodically.

Wait until you bike outside--it's way different! I never have a problem maintaining a nice 150 bpm for hours on end. Crank up the resistance but I have found that I really hate using a trainer in winter.

But that reminds me, I should hop on it and start thinking about next year's biking season.

Missed out on those snow tires. Just couldn't get there soon enough. Got home today, beat the storm (accident at end of our road though). Wife texted and sounds like she really wants snows. Time to spend the evening, again, looking into this.

Yeah, I'm not going to be riding on the street and mountain biking isn't my thing. There aren't a lot of other non-stupid places to ride near me, only a couple of long biking trails near me but they're mixed use and you'd have to dodge presentations all the time. There used to be a bunch of forest service roads around, but they have been mostly all shut down over the past 20 years.

I've got good riding around me, but as the years have gone by, I'm becoming much more warry of riding near cars. Not sure what changed, maybe a growing sense of mortality.

Bummer for you, I've long like cycling. There's a nice rail trail that I like to go to in the fall, not a lot of traffic and relatively flat. But it's like a 30-40 minute drive, so I don't go there too often. Have to hit up the back roads near me instead for most rides, and boy do I have some short and steep hills near me.

Watching this and at around 6 minutes you see Havre de Grace Maryland where I met the White Rogue Killer and the lovely Amish country I'm driving in daily...

I’m at work. Doing nothing because I don’t have a bay because they are refinishing the floors and someone called osha and complained about the dust so osha showed up and kicked that side of the shop out so I can’t do anything that requires a lift because the whole shop is trying to share 9 bays for 15 people. I told the person that called they can pay me for lost income.
