What are you doing right now?

Trying to regain my vision--finally went in for an eye exam as it's been a couple of years, and I can't read highway signs. Decent prescription change. Got my eyes dilated so it's so much fun reading anything right now.

Gave in and ordered progressives. I guess I had some insurance covering it so it isn't a big cost. I will put in a Zenni's order though for single prescription glasses, for distance, maybe reading, and certainly sunglasses.

Really wish this cold of mine would die off, congestion is so much fun. I'm sure my BP is through the roof from Dayquil, last time I was taking nasal decongestant for a period of time the doctor's office flipped out at BP.

Sudafed or something else?

Pretty sure the stuff in sudafed is in dayquil too. Am hoping after another day or two I can cut it out. 'tis the season for being miserable--if there was an upshot to the pandemic, it was the lack of colds.

I replaced the Clutch Master Cylinder in my 2005 CR-V this year with an Exedy but it was junk and has never worked right. I've spent some time looking for parts and found an online dealer in Vancouver that has good prices (way, way better than the local dealer will do) and shipping is cheap.

All OEM for me this time and I'll do it sometime over the holidays. I'm getting:

Master and Slave Cylinder
Release Fork Boot
Flex hose and front hard line (back one is discontinued)
Clutch Pedal Pin, bushing, and clip
An extra pin to retain the hydraulic line to the master cylinder
A couple of the little pad pedal stoppers

I already replaced the reservoir last time. This is pretty much all I can replace with parts that are available. Most of the cost is in the cylinders and hydraulic lines. Total $789.79 CAD, with shipping and taxes, which is $569.44USD. Actually not bad at all for OEM parts on this. I'm looking forward to getting that OEM feel back!
I got an email today that the parts ship tomorrow and I get them Tuesday.

As it happens, I was at the store today and the junk aftermarket clutch master went bad! It was a big challenge getting home, as I was in a busy parking lot and it was bumper to bumper rush hour traffic.
I had to keep it in first and let it stall every time I had to stop, as the pedal was on the floor.

As mentioned in my last email, I won’t use aftermarket junk again for hydraulics. I got 10 months out of this one and it never felt quite right.

Had half a cup of Cafe' Bustelo light roast from the dumb Keureg machine my wife bought and the caffeine is messing me up. I drink soda and cold coffee all the time without feeling it but this crap is caffeine on steroids.

Light roast coffees have the highest concentration of caffeine and vice versa; dark roasts have the least amount of caffeine.

I am getting ready to make the 80 mile drive to Niagara Falls. Believe it or not, even though it’s below the freezing point and windy and snowy, I have 4 guests who booked my walking tour and boat cruise to the falls! I hope they are bundled up well!! As soon as I’m finished there I have to drive 30 miles to my girlfriend’s house, grab a quick shower and then make another 25-30 mile drive to a friend’s Christmas party. Busy day, but fun ☺️
