What are you doing right now?

At my job, Bobbi from India will tunnel in remotely and help with IT computer issues.
Our "IT guy" took one look at my work PC and said it was absolute overkill for my job and would be replaced with something much more suited for my position. FWIW my work PC is my own Alienware Aurora R11 because my old work PC died and I needed something from Best Buy that had dual monitor support, and that was what was in stock. He wants to replace it with a Dell MicroPC.

I’m just at work. Everyone coming in today because supposed to be 1-3 inches of snow tonight into tomorrow morning and predicted slick roads so hopefully we get the day off lol. Over half the appointments for tomorrow called and are coming in today. I just know one thing is I don’t risk the ice so I’ll at least be late.

Coffee

Everyone still sleeping but I hear the wife upstairs

RO number. I try to lay them out in some semblance of order and the techs can just grab and go. Keeps me busy when I would normally not be doing anything and the techs waste less time in parts writing requisition slips.
So you don’t bring the parts to the tech directly? At my dealership we send them a pick ticket and they walk the parts out to us.

For just oil changes I will leave them on the back counter and they can get them as they pick up ROs. We are not digital and techs still have hard copies of everything. For bigger stuff I will either leave them in piles in the back or take them out to the tech when I get the chance. We can get very busy at times in parts and I have to keep as many plates spinning as possible.

Oh wow lol. For the most part we don’t go to the parts department because us techs like to chat with the parts guys for a minute and the boss freaks out lol. So instead we just use our pick tickets thru CDK or send parts a PSI message and they bring our stuff and then if we need a quote or price for something we send them a parts estimate request and they handle it from there.
