I just caught up on this thread today. Lots and lots of reading to get to this point!
The most popular topic is deodorant. I’ve never met anyone who collects it

. That’s a cool hobby - I collect vintage sports cards (pictures of men on cardboard) so who am I to judge!!
I’m late 40’s and always used the Gillette gel - it’s harder to find but still exists. One of them generally lasted me about a year. Since the pandemic, though, I have switched to natural deodorants and I recently started using Schmidt’s and it works great.
Anyway, this weekend I took down our fence panels. I had already purchased 6 nice cedar 6x8 panels from a company up in Chemainus - really high quality and thick compared to the box stores. I was going to re-use the existing 4x4 posts but found they were a bit loose and ended up pulling them and installing all new yesterday. The panels will go up another day.
We had help from my mother in law and her husband so took them to dinner at Montana’s.
I did a bit of staining on the gate today (not replacing it but it took about 5 hours to sand). I’m using a natural oil-based stain that has a lot of linseed oil. My wife and I then took my daughter to a place called “Mr. Tubbs”. They sell ice cream, which we had, but also have a bunch of old-style games that spit out tickets which the kids can use to buy prizes.
I’m also slowly getting my office organized, as my job is switching to full time work at home on Oct 1, other than when I travel.
