I wish I could say the same Jimmy lol. Washer and dryer 2007 models both are bad so we have to use laundromat. Hopefully with my raise I can help my parents get new ones.

for various reasons, lately I've been drinking a lot of coffee past 11am.
paying the consequence now---pushing through a big caffeine withdrawl headache right now.
going cold turkey starting tomorrow, no more coffee past 7am.

Unfortunately I doubt if we buy new we'd only get maybe 5 years out of them
Today is a reminder that racing is dangerous. This afternoon as I watched from down course, Chris Raschke 60, was making a pass in Speed Demon III. The car became airborne, and came down hard. The emergency medical personnel reached him quickly, but were unable to save him.
The crash is under investigation.

Very true. I think we’ve been without a functioning washer and dryer since 2023 so we got good life but nothing today is going to last. All the appliances I’ve looked at feel like cheaply made plastic.
That's a bummer, I can't imagine living without a washer and drier. I'm not allowed to touch ours; it's hallowed ground by She Who Must Be Obeyed. Buying was a well though out process, lots of stress, and I worry about when they die.
But they do like to play music tunes when done, and can be set to send email when done. I love when my wife gets mad about it telling her that perhaps she should not use the quick wash, as it's hard on clothes and such. Woman has an advanced degree in biochemistry, taken several calculus classes--and can be reduced to arguing with an inanimate machine. I laugh (in silence, lest I be the next target).

Don't buy the cheap Amana. It supposedly has a control board issue in recent times.

I am pretty sure that the washer and dryer combo in my condo is the original one and so it’s about 30 years old. Both still work!

I know. Aggravating for sure when you have one that keeps leaking.
I always have strived to maintain the same brand - model tires all around on our vehicles. Even if/when I have had to replace one.
Just recently , first time ever , I could not. Wife caught a nail (of course in sidewall-can not repair) on a late Saturday afternoon.
All the local places were closed and Sunday morning no one seemed to have the same exact tire.
I ended up replacing the two fronts with the same brand. I could see she was going to need a new set soon anyway.
So, come rotation time in a couple months , I will go in on a week day to make sure they have the same model tires or have them order me two so that I can match them with the other two we recently bought.
I do always purchase the "LIFE-balance/rotation and road hazard" when I buy new ones. The purchase of that has come in very handy the last several years. We seem to have construction going on all around all the time. Trucks hauling and dropping stuff all over. Plus, guys pulling small work/equipment trailers all the time. The wife can not seem to miss any potholes or nails. Thank God for "road hazard" policies.

If you can..... try to purchase Maytag or Whirlpool washer and dryers. According to a buddy who just retired n closed his appliance sales and repair business ..... Those two are under ownership of the same USA owned company. Joe has told me many times in the last 10 years or so that Maytag and Whirlpool are the brands he has hardly ever been called to repair. I believe him. We own one of each for near 25 years now.
Loading truck for dump run
I rarely lose a tire so I have not been doing road hazard lately--and for this tire, it was on a used car, so no warranty.
We did for years but in the last decade or so they haven't seemed any better than anything else. We have had okay luck with Frigidaire on a couple appliances, but the 6-year-old dishwasher has already had a mother board replacement and a pump replacement. Buying something else would not likely be any better so we just fix it.
Seems like most current appliances are the same cruddy parts with different brand names. All disposable 5-year life garbage.
Bosch is a lot more expensive but honestly no idea if it's any better than the other stuff.
Dump complete. Coffee time!
