What are you doing right now?

I have no problem moving out once I find the right one. That’s the goal. But the problem is rent for one person in this area is around $1,200 if I paid that with one check it would leave me like $300 afterwords. And I’m scared to death of living alone.

Life is expensive. It always has been. Coming out of the recession in the late 70's, a 30 year fixed interest rate topped out at over 18%. We won't even talk about the great depression my parents grew up in.

Save your money, don't keep blowing it on junk, and like every one else has at some point, you'll have enough to put your own roof over your head.

Being scared of living alone, I'd suggest talking to a therapist of some sort. A Social Worker would be a good place to start.

I get it, growing up is hard. I lived most of my 20's alone. I just put my head down, worked my butt off, saved all I could, and eventually had a good life.

If I and most of the guys here could do it, you can too.

Septic dug out. Do not want to do that again. Trying to convince wife that $600 or whatever for risers is well worth it--if we have to do this every 3 years going forward, then, me being the lazy sort, want this to be the last time I have to dig this out.

Wild guess says, if I had to pay to dig this out, it's probably $250 a shot. So it'll pay for itself quickly. Just have to deal with seeing the risers in the yard, which I won't care about... which is a problem with SWMBO.

Just left my GI doctor's office. Had a good follow-up visit from my most recent liver elastography. After many years of alcoholic drinking, I got sober in 2022. My first liver scan after stopping drinking in '22 was bad, showing sever fibrosis, just shy of Cirrhosis. Fast forward to three years of sobriety later, and my most recent liver scan is completely normal, no fibrosis, and my bloodwork looks great. I also lost 5 pounds since my visit last year! :)

Enjoying what I can for the last day of vacation. Working on pops truck. Hopefully he takes me to the antique store afterwards lol. Tomorrow it’s back to work but I’m actually kind of glad because I miss it and it’s getting kind of boring. But I’ll still be ready to retire come tomorrow at 5 lol.

Why can't you go to the antique store yourself???

I haven’t been really successful with that. I’d need some help making the budget because I’ve tried to do it all in my head.

There are Apps for expense tracking. But I for one think it's dumb to pay for an App when you can do this yourself. Especially when you're trying to cut expenses...

Go old school, and get a piece of paper and a pen. Write down where every dollar you spend goes. You'll see where you can cut back on your spending.

It's pretty easy on paper or PC, but PITR on a phone.

Just make it easy.
Record all money that comes in.
Record all money you spend.

Now you know, money you spend should always include the 20-30% (of income) you pay yourself. Concept oddly is called "Pay yourself first". And really it is what made me rich.

Drilled and installed dreaded front license plate on the Mitsubishi.
I ordered the silicone slide in plate holder with screw cups and caps and it makes a rattle free and no screw eyesore install... very nice and inexpensive
