Resting. Sweating profusely. Trying to dig out the septic tank. No idea how anyone can work outside, I had to resort to rubbing sunblock into my scalp and ditching glasses as it was streaming off me after 5 minutes.

Does not help that it is at least 2 feet of sand over it.

All this to avoid paying someone else to dig it up. Not sure its worth it!

We out smarted the young uns and had the BBQ while they were all away at summer camp.

I think a lot of them nowadays realize that the cost of living has skyrocketed especially for one person so most probably accept it for now. The women I’ve talked too have seemed ok with it but then again I see that none of those were successful encounters.

Some of the women you've talked to would have gone out on a date if you had your own place. The cost of living has gone up, but once you find a decent chick you two could live together and pay halfsies on rent and utilities. Then if she's the right one, hopefully you'll get married, buy a house and have a kid or 2.

Putting it off for whatever excuse you have is dumb as you're working a decent job. I know this site frowns on sex talk, but at 24, once you have your own place and a GF, it's something most couples do at your age.

Old people like to beat up on young people. In my day things weren't easy either... if you work hard things will happen sooner or later.... it's never easy... being with the wrong person can ruin your life even after they are long gone...being scared of that is normal.... you have to be very careful..

Welcome to adulthood. 50% of income to rent is excessive, I will grant you that. But life is expensive.

Have you thought about saving that amount per month to learn how to live with a tight budget? might help with a future down payment. Start stockpiling the dough.
