What are you doing right now?

Spent some time this morning out in the pasture. Made some progress. Then onto fencing. Now taking a break to cool down as I got supper in the works. Then it will be back to fencing.

Just finished installing a PCV catch-can on my Tacoma. Had to go to NAPA and buy some decent rubber hose as the one that came with the catch-can was mickey mouse and too short for both runs anyway. Catch-can was only $25 and the NAPA hose (4-feet) was $10. The Tacoma had a couple of threaded holes on the LH fender wall, so was able to just bolt the catch-can there with a couple of 1/8" nylon washers to give the bracket clearance.

The can sits at a slight angle because of the angle of the existing mount hole in the fender, but that won't make any difference in the functionality of the catch-can. I didn't want to try and bend the aluminum mounting bracket on the catch-can because if brittle it could snap, then I'd have to come up with a different mount which would be a pain. Just had to drill out the one hole in the bracket for the 8 mm mounting bolt. It came out pretty good actually, and the OEM PVC valve hose wasn't hard to remove, and hooking up the catch-can hoses to the PCV valve (in rear of driver's valve cover), and to the intake manifold was pretty easy. Hoses on the catch-can fittings fit real tight, so no real need for hose clamps there. Might put some of the gold finished spring clamps on those (like I used on the PCV valve and intake manifold hose ends) to match, but they aren't really needed.

The two hoses in the front center of the photo are connected to the catch-can. Hose on the right goes to the PCV valve in the valve cover, and the hose on the left goes to the intake manifold.

Bracket to existing threaded hole in the fender. Got a couple 1/8 inch thick nylon washers to space it out some for clearance. Had the nice flanged 8 mm bolt laying around for 35 years from my motorcycle mechanic days. Never known when random saved fasteners will be used someday, lol.

Contemplating how to fix the garage door. The 3 Stooges installed it I think. Bottom panel is falling apart so I think I will pull out some braces to slow the destruction--some day I'll have to spring to have them replaced, and done right. Am guessing they didn't have enough track, didn't want to notch the footer, or were just inept (maybe all 3).

On my lunch break. It’s supposed to have really bad thunderstorms around here starting about 1pm so all the schools have said they will be getting out early. I want to leave early but can’t lose any pay so if we have to be here we have to be here lol.

I'm editing some pictures that I will post later. I sort through the image files, then scale the chosen images via batch-process in one fell swoop for online posting.

Busy afternoon and evening. I won't have to do any chores this weekend. Got done cleaning the house, doing laundry, touched up where my robotic mowers can't mow. Wife is flying in from Dulles International tomorrow morning and we plan on going to a taco fest on Saturday.
