I made a big chef salad for each of us for dinner. Had my bestie over for dinner as well. At first my dad said "a salad isn't dinner". Then he saw me adding ham, hard boiled eggs, pasta, and suddenly it was okay. He put so much salad dressing on his, that it was all liberally coated with thousand island dressing anyway.
My day was a full one, got some work done on a helicopter and motorcycles, but the highlight of my day was a great dualsport bike ride with my dad. For 47 kms we rode down railroad tracks, including across trestle bridges and through tunnels. We looked up the train schedule, and then waited at the end of an old gravel road where it stops by a railway line. Once the train went past, we put our bikes on the tracks and rode, talk about teeth chattering rough, the more speed we used, the better it was. At another road 47kms later, we got our bikes off the tracks and rode that old road in a farming community, until we eventually met up with paved roads, and down to the hwy. We stopped for a nice lunch at a roadside diner, then took pavement back to town. Anyone who doesn't yet own a dualsport bike, should be out shopping for one.
