What are you doing right now?

Being as it's the last night before my 3 day weekend I'm huddled in my office trying not to jinx it by saying something stupid like 'it sure is slow tonight' or, 'you know, we haven't had to fight any meth'ed up idiots in a while'.

Our Thursday nights tend to go sideways more often than not for some reason.

What is it that you do?

When I was young, Dad took me so many places on the back of his bikes. He took his leather jacket to a seamstress and had leather handles sewn onto the sides for me to hang onto. It would have been nice to have a mother, but I was so lucky to have the greatest dad ever!
My dad once told me "If I didn't have you in my life babygirl I would probably be dead, from wrapping a bike around a tree doing 300. You are the reason I don't take big risks anymore, you are my guardian angel. Ride hard, have fun, but don't ride crazy, and always remember that car drivers are stupid and blind. So always think as if they do not see you, and want you dead." I never forgot that little talk, it was when we pulled over to have a bitnof water, andstretch our legs, about 15 minutes after a car ran a stop sign and almost hit us, dad swerved and managed to miss the moron. To this day I swear car drivers are largely blind. Last summer I pulled up besidea woman in her car, and asked her where her white cane and seeing eye dog were? She asked me why I would ask that. Because you tried to run me over back there you crazy woman. She swears thatshe never saw me, no idea how she couldn't have seen me. These people probably wouldn't see a fire truck coming with their emergency lights on.
Aww he sounds so awesome!!:giggle:(y)

I totally agree!! Some drivers are just totally clueless!! It's like I always tell my gf, "I always worry about you when you're on the road, not because of you, but because of other drivers".

I like riding motorcycles more than any other activity. From racing motocross, to a spirited street bike ride on a twisty road, or exploring on my dualsport, looking for trails or backroads. Again my dad grew up riding because grampa rode, and I got the passion from my dad. Dad bought me my first little dirt bike at age 4, and upsized every 2 or 3 years as I grew.

I wanted a dirt bike when I was a kid but my parents, being teachers, weren't inclined toward those sorts of "dangerous toys". Luckily, my mom's dad didn't share that sentiment and he, being a bit of a fanatical collector, bought all kinds of fun stuff for me to learn to wrench on and play with. We had a Honda Big Red trike (which was slower than the 2nd coming) and then he bought a Yamaha 225DX trike which was significantly faster. I drove that for many many years on the island.

When we moved out east I ended up making friends with a real country boy down the road who had a Honda 250 "chopper". Had the fat back tire, slightly raked fork, big "ape hanger" bars and the 2-up seat with the big backrest. We took that thing EVERYWHERE. Had something wrong with the idle circuit so it wouldn't idle or start without the choke on but then you had to slam the choke in once you were moving or it wouldn't go anywhere. It was off-road more than it was on as there were what seemed to be a million roads and paths all over the dikes and flood plains.

His dad had a Suzuki GSX400-R that I ended up paying far too little for because he needed the money and I was a mostly broke highschool kid. I owned that for many years and put quite a few miles on it. Learned quite a bit about cars not watching for bikes and made the bike louder after somebody tried to change lanes into the side of me on the highway.

My dad sold my bike on me while I was away at University. He absolutely hated it (of course) and was just looking for an opportunity to be able to sell it.

Year before last my wife and I were considering buying a Harley (she'd been watching too much SoA) but we never pulled the trigger. Were looking at a Dyna wide glide at the time, was a very nice looking bike. I'd never been an HD fan, more drawn toward bikes like the Yamaha V-MAX.

I just made arrangements with my friend so he can come pick up my new truck tomorrow and bring it to my house. I decided that will be the best option in case it quits while we are going down the road the fuel pump is suspected bad. Now I’m just riding around and getting ready to swing by and get everything that comes with the truck.

Just left Sam’s Club. Might go to the hardware store to see if I can get some more keys cut for the truck. It has 4 keys two for ignition and two for doors and gas lid. My parents want one for their key chains though so I have to get more made and it’s good to have extras. They discontinued the original blanks so they will have to be close like my other truck has.
