What are you doing right now?

Up wondering what toiletries AutoMechanic will wear today....

Eleven years ago today I ruined my mother's Easter Sunday morning dinner which she did for the extended family.

The day before I had a heart attack and tried to make it til Monday but Easter Sunday I woke up and couldn't believe it and got up with zero balance.... I started off a chain of family events and nothing but horrible luck.... checking out 11 years ago looking back would have been best... it was a time I wouldn't wish on anyone. AutoMechanic and his drama was worth surviving I'll admit ... Blessings all...

FWIW, I for one appreciate you still being here. If for no other reason than to marvel at the fast food crap you manage to survive on. 😁

l did set out $150 for boots and whatever I don’t use for that I’ll put in savings too. My current boots are from 2022 and killing my feet and heels where they have worn on the inside and outside.

Does your employer give you a yearly safety shoe allowance ?

I get $250 per year but don’t use it cause I no longer working at hospitals.

Went to a Kroger with a large Kosher selection this morning since my in-laws are flying up.

Unfortunately no. They made us sign a paper when we start saying they won’t be liable for injuries caused if you don’t wear safety toe shoes or boots.

Shopping at Walmart. No soap or deodorant for me only stuff for lunches and some other things I needed like foot powder lol. Hopefully it won’t be extremely hot tomorrow since they won’t let us use the air conditioner until after Memorial Day. My friends dealership is closed tomorrow in observance of Easter I’m like dang you it must be nice lol. The stuff on the left is all mine. I have to buy my own milk because I can’t stand that 2% stuff my dad gets. I love cheddar Sun Chips so much.

Uh thanks I think 🤔
When I get to Florida and dump the business, I'll cook at home with pleasure...
Looking forward to that. It'll be entertaining like many of your posts. And it'll be interesting when you start making unique cooking utensils from scrap metal.

You don't Dash on Sundays? I gave it a shot Fri and Sat after reading all your post. Why not? I'm retired and wasting too much time reading petty arguments about oil and watching Asian drama with Spousal Unit. I was thinking of a part time job locally, but then you don't get to pick your hours.
Made $176 in 7 hours over two days. $160 after gas, so $22 hour just to drive around the local area. Studying the bonus and high paying hours in the area and I may keep doing it a couple days a week. I kind of enjoyed the solitude in the car. Audio books for the win.

I only dash now if I’m in dire need of money lol. And I do it more during the winter because now it’s baseball season so gotta be home for the games. I also try to keep my earnings under $600 so I don’t have to do taxes on it. My dad has been doing Walmart Spark more than DoorDash here recently and loving that too except now they partnered with other stores and it drives him crazy to have to go to Home Depot or Ulta Beauty or somewhere else for orders instead of just Walmart lol. I’ll still do some dashing from time to time to keep my account active. Also last time I dashed too many places were taking so long to make the order that I was missing out on good offers so I took a little break. I did it last at the beginning of March.

I’ve seen them enforce it a couple of times without a fight so I don’t know may or may not be. I have never looked into it. I just know I want to keep everything in tact lol 😂. All my buddies shops are like that too.
An employer can fire you for not wearing proper PPE, but workers comp still covers on the job injuries even if you were not wearing proper PPE. Very few exceptions exist, such as being intoxicated on the job, but even that isn't iron clad. Just to be 100% clear, I support always wearing proper PPE and following workplace safety rules.

Good to know. I was unaware of that. I had always heard the opposite.

Blake, I bet if you read the agreement it would be more like, "It is policy that you are required to wear safety shoes and follow all safety procedures and if you get hurt because you don't, you can't sue us."
