What are you doing right now?

Getting ready to eat my hotcakes and sausage and waiting on the niece and nephews to get here for the fourth consecutive weekend. I think mom is tired of watching them lol. They always complain about me watching baseball and then annoy me when I’m trying to watch. I love kids but they can be annoying as heck at times lol. Then they complain every time we grill too which gets annoying so I’m purposely going to grill with them here lol. I always buy them a steak anyway and they don’t like the fact we won’t grill with sticks like their parents.

You need water. You need nutritious meals. You need a roof over your head. You need a solid circle of family and good friends. And frankly, you need much better control of your wants and your spending habits. That phone and any other major spend before you read the book you ordered is very ill-advised. You absolutely don't need the camera in that phone.

AM has a job.

It's about the only thing keeping him from being homeless at 28 though.

I will say the delta cost in phones has narrowed, but a $500 phone would suit him just fine.

Yeah, I just like him though and hate seeing him make similar mistakes to the stupid mistakes I made for too long. Thankfully I finally outgrew them although much later than it should have been. I didn't have the internet at that time where complete strangers could stick their noses into my business. :)

I’m glad to know you like me and my posts and believe me I appreciate your old man advice 🙂. My book is supposed to be here today. It may take me a year to read it but I’ll get it done. In my opinion everyone “needs” a new phone after two years. Just my thoughts though haha. One of the service advisors at work still has the iPhone 8. Phones don’t last like cars do. I once asked a person at Verizon why they won’t activate any old phones anymore like you used to be able too and he said the old phones don’t have the emergency tracking capability anymore like if you are in an accident or something they can’t locate you and they would not activate anything older than the iPhone 7 because of that. That was in 2021 so I’m not sure what the oldest one they would activate now. I love photography so the camera is important to me. If I had the money I’d get my parents a new one too. They want new ones but won’t buy them at Verizon because of a miscommunication last time about how trade ins work. I’m the only one in my family that likes iPhone though so at least I can steal their chargers with this new phone lol. All the experts are saying this is a worthwhile upgrade this year. I won’t step down from the pro models either because then the camera is the trade off. After that I’m saving for a MacBook or similar. I won’t buy anything but Apple products now. And to me I want the latest and greatest phones and gadgets and the oldest cars lol.

30% Vinegar bombing weeds
Hauling more and more rocks
Cutting worthwhile wood burnables (>1.5-2") from a large pile of brush and moving said pile
Cutting and stacking a mess of cardboard
Cutting ~3/4 acre of islanded "grass" in around 30 minutes, included full fill up with Amsoil fuel stabilizered fuel
Hand watered my custom grass blend area on west side of house

Waiting for wife to come home from garden club meeting, we eat lunch and then tree sale - need some drought tolerant conifers - Doug fir, pines, Incense cedar

Staying inside, it's like 80 and humid and I last about 3 minutes under the sun before I'm a sweaty mess.

Biked 23 miles, no close calls with cars this time. Got the tie rods swapped on the mower. Paced out a spot to hang another HF antenna, debating what to make (ham radio), distance is a bit short. Looking at project radio on my desk, not sure why I'm digging into it, it's older than me. Avoiding cleaning the desk (to make space I may have just pushed stuff out the way, as opposed to actually cleaning). Looking up used computers on CL, this one frozen a couple of times in the last couple of months, it's like 12 years old, maybe it's time. Mostly killing time rather than doing something productive.

Wife wants us to go over to friends house and use the pool later, then we'll probably grill some dogs for dinner.
