^^^ Yeah, lots of steady cruising on the highway is easy on the engine. Low load (means lower wear), good operating temps (helps keep oil cleaner from combustion blow-by and fuel dilution), way less cold start-ups over the life of the engine, etc. I think the 1M mile Toyota was mainly a highway cruiser.

One cold start in 600 miles on the highway, the secret to a million miles. Last time I checked a Taco made it to 1.6 million miles. The gentleman delivered medical supplies all over the East Coast. And it was a four banger too.

Yes, the blow-by left some carbon in my filter. Other than that my filter was super clean. But this Lincoln engine is a disaster.
I am running HPL Premium Plus 0w16 right now, lets see how my filter looks with HPL in a month.

This is a good point I always bring up. If efficiency is not important to you run an OEM filter that’s good quality and around $5. No point buying a $16.99 rock catcher.

But if efficiency is important to you(it is to me) quality filters are available for under $10.

The filter in the OP is not an issue, it did its job. The vehicle and how it was used was probably the near the worst case for seeing a situation like this.

That Pennzoil high mileage did a good job of cleaning.

Oil changes are good for no more that 5k miles. You have tp purchase quality oil filters, yours failed. Good Luck
