Whaddaya think of these oil specs...

These are the specs... SAE: 20W-50 API: SJ Viscosity @ 40°C: 128.6 Viscosity @ 100°C: 12.3 VI: 142 Flash point: 232°C Pour point: -50°C Sulphated Ash: 1.35% TBN: 11.5 Oil is paraffinic base. That's all I have. Oil also meets mil spec MIL-L-46152B (whatever that is) and VW 501.01/505.00 Any comments? [ February 23, 2003, 05:28 AM: Message edited by: JB ]

Something is wrong. At 12.3cst it's not 50wt oil, it's 30wt! Did you type the wrong number? Maybe you meant to type 17.3?

Patman: I picked that up too. No it wasn't a typo and I shot the company an e-mail to see if they can clarify.

It doesn't sound possible to have a 20w50 oil that is non synthetic, having that low of a pour point either.
