Welp my truck just "dropped" a lifter

I used to work pipeline, so I can understand that completely.

I was just wondering what working the pipeline has to do with failed lifters. Most those guys have diesels anyways.

Yeah, would love to see a tear-down of a failed one (autopsy) as I don't think we've had somebody post one that I can recall.

Well let me look at how to do exactly that, and I'll post pictures for y'all. This lifter will be the one that failed me in December, and when I replace the lifters once again I'll do the same with that one.

You'd be surprised how many didn't have diesels. My brother for example had, and still has his 2012 f150 5.0, used, and abused it daily. Maybe 60-70% actually had diesels.

If you do a dod/afm delete, and torque converter they’re actually stout trucks.
But it definitely shouldn’t be an issue to begin with.
