Well out of warranty, what oil would you buy for a 2.0t VW?

M1 0W-40FS, Castrol Syntec 0W-40 or join the Rotella gang.

I still like Mobil 1 0w-40 and Castrol 5w-40. They're known quantities with very wide usage.

Either one really. 5w40 is always on the shelf in my WM. I rarely see the 0w40.

There is supply issues around 0W40, but lately available on Amazon.
0W40 is step up over 5W40.

A personal favorite is the Castrol Edge either gold colored or black can in 5w30. ACEA A5/B5 and C2/C3. Small euro gas and diesel engines love it - as does my Ford Endeavour (aka Ranger with a SUV body, 3.2 liter duratorq diesel).
