^ yep what he said. You can do your own work or take it to anyone to have maintenances done as long as you follow the mfg specs and recommended oils at the approved intervals then They can't denie warranty. I never said it was ok to forge papers and not do the maintenance just back date in a log of when it was done and what was used. I guess I should've been more specific. As far a receipts go I talked to my Kia dealer about them and they said the filter box top would be fine because receipt ink isn't meant to last for years and fade out most of the recipes I've saved are all blank now anyway. Besides who's to say you don't buy oil and filters return them and keep the recipt in a log nothing is ideal when doing it yourself other than video proof. Il continue with my box tops with out worry it would be a legal nightmare to a dealer if they tried to deny me

Usually they only demand receipts if the engine looked neglected, if under vale cover look reasonable clean they would not asking for proof of oil had been change regularly.

Now, if you claim you change oil&filter every 5-7k miles according to manual and/or OLM, and after 40-50k miles the factory oil filter is still on the engine then they will demand receipts.
