Want to re-check ATF fluid on my E46 GM trans. Compatibility question

Hi all,

First time poster here. About a year ago I did 2 drains and fills with supertech Dexron 6 (2001 BMW 330xi). Well, I had a mechanic do the fills cause I had messed sth up. No trans problems. I just want to make sure fluid is at the proper level. Not sure if the mechanic kept the engine running after shifting through the gears.

Now, since supertech Dexron 6 was discontinued. Can I top up with the new supertech Dexron 6/mercon 5 multi vehicle ATF, or for instance w the acdelco Dexron 6. Essentially mixing one of the 2 new fluids w the supertech Dexron 6?

Yes, you can use the new ST multi-ATF in your BMW with no problems. Any licensed Dexron VI will work and they are all compatible with each other.

Make sure the fluid is at the correct temperature too!
