Walmart oil prices - Ah!

I thought i got a good deal, Walmart has the 20qt boxes of 5w30 and 0w20 for $118. I Got two.
5 gallon boxes of what?

People tend to think selling more product or service is the goal, but that is not correct.
This is very true. I’ve watched my employer sacrifice tens of millions of dollars in revenue over the last few years because the margins weren’t there. They’d rather lease certain parts of the railroad to shortlines than do the work themselves and assume the liability to boot. It’s “cheaper” profit.

You have just referenced Economic pricing theory. Prices will tend to rise until demand falls to an unacceptable level.

Not sure I understand your empty shelves question. If I need oil, then I have little choice, in the short term at least. But Econ also teaches us that when prices rise too high consumers will seek out acceptable alternatives.
That's like the dynamic EZ-PASS HOV toll pricing in Virginia by Washington DC. The price goes higher as traffic builds in HOV. They want HOV travelling so you need to pay. My son paid a crazy amount, didn't realize it, followed Waze. He said it did save probably hours based on traffic conditions.

Why hype up about these price where I spend hundred on hundred on other thing in life, I can just spend less on that and buy oil when my engine need, no need to storage oils, for what ? to save a few buck ? After thinking about that I felt a lot better and just turn around and go home. I’m back to my old self lol. I come here for fun and learn not for worried about thing I have no control about.
I'd rather buy some oil now for a few future oil changes in a situation like this then be surprised if it gets worse instead of better. The way things are going don't expect it to get better anytime soon.

Valvoline restore & protect

Somewhat relevant for Canadians - Canadian Tire sale price on Edge EP this upcoming week is $69.99 per jug
That’s not the sale price. That’s its regular price. It’s not on sale this week. No oil is on sale this week (just like the past few weeks)

I think the Susquehanna always looks so beautiful because of what you just left behind.

I am currently dailying an every reliable 1999 RX300 415K that I've done all my own repairs and maintenance on for the past 18 years of ownership when my wife drove it. It's still runs perfect however some rust is starting in front of the rear wheel wells so next year I was going to start looking to replace it with a used 2016 - 2020 RX350. The issue I foresee is the typical owner of these cars extending the already long Lexus\Toyota recommended intervals due to rising oil change service costs. Now moving foward I see used vehicles as an even more risker proposition.
