Yeah, I imagine the demand is increasing even more now. Less than a week ago I ordered a 3-pack of 5w-30 5 quart jugs for $90. It’s $107 now

From Walmart.com I recently ordered a 2 pack of 5qt jugs of PUP 5W-30 for $58. A single 5 qt jug is going for $39 on Walmart.com. This is from store inventory because I picked it up later that day. Since the store's inventory of PUP 5W-30 is iffy I order it on Walmart.com to see if they have it in stock first. This saves a wasted 20 mile trip if they don't have it.

Walmart Canada has seen some pretty steep price increases lately. Nothing on sale either. Cheapest oil at Walmart is now Mobil Synthetic 4.73L jug at $29.99. The house brand Supertech conventional is $29.99 and the synthetic is $34.99. Costco's Kirkland Full Synthetic is still the best deal around at $49.99 for two 4.73L jugs.

This is true to an extent.

But if someone keeps a 5,000 mile OCI and I implement a "8,046 km" OCI, we are both on the same page now, all things equal, I still lose.

Not sure about oil filters though, and how the pricing differs. Don't get me started on gasoline,

But the equivalent $1.44/litre price in Hawaii is in USD, correct?

And I think the B.C. prices are in C$.

If you do the currency conversion (1 C$ typically 0.72 USD), B.C.'s prices are high, but not as much above Hawaii's and California's prices as they first appear. (C$2.00 = US$1.44, subject to currency fluctuations.)

We were down in ND and north-central MN a few weeks ago. We filled twice in Grand Forks ND at c. US$3.61/US gallon. That worked out to about 80% of what we were paying here in Manitoba. Less for sure, but not a major factor.

That puts Costco's Kirkland (Warren) oil at about the same price as Walmart's SuperTech (also Warren).
