Walmart oil prices - Ah!

For every application/engine?
Is ESP better in a full bolt-on 90's era Ford Windsor 302 than EP HM?
I would be running M1 0w-40 or similar, like Havoline Pro DS 5W-40. Your not going to have any of the issues that might be helped by either of the other oils - unlikely to carbon / sludge, I am guessing your not trying to do very long OCI. 302 engine weak link were the rod bearings (undersized journals and the bolts were pretty wimpy also - unless you did aftermarket). So a thicker film can't hurt.

IMHO.

I ran M1 0W-40 F/S last change with a FRAM XG8A, ran whisper quiet and drained out clean.
Just seems to rev a little more free and equally quiet on it's new fill of M1 5W-30 EP HM and same XG8A.
I know the ESP line is the top tier of M1, just not sure it's chemistry is best utilized in use cases like my 302 (y)

@Pablo will probably remember better than I but I think Amsoil raised prices during Covid temporarily then they came back down. Not sure if they came down all the way or not. May not have been Covid either. I just remember seeing a temp increase then decrease. Maybe it will happen again; maybe...
I remember Amsoil prices going up during Covid for a bit as well
