Just stop! It was foreseeable and people didn't execute caution. They didn't have their head on a swivel. Walmart isn't the cure or answer and the toilet paper epidemic a few winters past should be a teaching tool.
Well, that's true. Ditto paying more for gas. But the world runs on oil, so those costs flow through to just about everything. Prices go up or margins suffer.
Sure, but the comment was about finally seeing motor oil go up in price and I guess that was my real point. Motor oil is one of the last places I'm worried about seeing higher oil prices. Even with four vehicles, it's insignificant compared to the way higher oil prices ripple through the economy by increasing the cost of shipping, manufacturing, farming, aviation, construction, and ultimately just about everything we buy. The indirect costs of higher oil prices dwarf what most of us spend on motor oil itself.
My local Walmart . Castrol is still priced very well. Might switch to that in the mean time. I just have GM vehicles (Silverado and Enclave) and a Jeep wrangler. Only my truck gets driven a lot, the other two can probably go to the end of the year.
I spend more on a tank of gas than an entire OCI, so I'm not too distressed but I do like to get a good deal. So, I bought a year or two's worth last month.
