Walmart oil prices - Ah!

Wow, PUP is $39 online in WM, and QS is $30. For some crazy reason QS Ultimate is $24.
I am glad I got PUP for $26 just a month ago

Well, this was long overdue, I think Mobil1 EP on rollback was $26 for past 10 years+, with all the inflation they cant keep prices that low

Went yesterday 7/6/26:
Walmart near ZooMiami

SuperTech - $17
SuperTech 20k - $19
QSFS - $20
GTXFS - $22
CASTROL (black) - $23
CASTROL (gold) - $28
PFS - $22
PP - $23
PUP - $26
M1 - $24
M1ESP $27
M1EP - $28
VFS - $24
VEP - $26
VRP - $29

No change here, yet.
It would seem hard to find the zoo there - might wind up at MIA

For any gluttons for more hoarding, if you live in Meijer-land, Valvoline Restore and Protect is $28.99. sale ends Tuesday, IIRC.

https://www.meijer.com/shopping/search.html?text=valvoline (no UPS shipping options, as Meijer is Midwestern Mega-Lo Mart)
The Restore and Protect Fuel System Cleaner is only $7.11 there. Walmart is $11.97 IIRC. Autozone is $12.99 but on BOGO until 7/27.

Let's see, I have four vehicles, I'm doing 5k OCIs, that means each vehicle gets approximately 2 oil changes per year. Each time I change the oil on all four vehicles that's roughly five 5-quart containers x 2 x $6 = an extra $60 per year for four vehicles.

My guess is most people have two vehicles at most so we're really talking about $30 per year.

Not the end of the world...

Yup, everything up here also in Wis, except Castrol Edge and of all things Mobil Advanced clean. Got 2 jugs of Mobil advanced clean 5-30 for $25 a bottle as most all other oil I have is Mobil. I do both of our vehicles, my boat, tractor, and zero turn, and we put a lot of miles on. We are 30+ miles from Walmart and they deliver it for free. Sometimes when I order things it doesn't show up the same day like they say, as I assume there is only so many deliveries way out by me, but that's ok, it's free delivery and not only do I not have to drive to town, but also don't have to go into their store. I love this free delivery option of theirs. I save $8 in gas driving there, and my time. They have to be loosing money on me at times.
We started using their free delivery a year or so back when we were in the store and buying some paper towels and it rang up a couple bucks cheaper than the online price. I showed the checkout person on my phone the online price and they wouldn't drop it so I told them to keep it. After getting home we looked it up again, and was still that sale price, so we ordered 2 pkgs with free delivery. 70 mile round trip to my house. So we got it fore a little over 2 bucks cheaper per pkg, and they deliver for free, we've been using free delivery ever since.

I have 5-7 vehicles depending who comes home and when. The less than 5qt average out with the bit more than 5qt. My Accord takes care of the "extra" as it burns it. Father-in-law pays for an oil bundle so I pick that up when I change his but he might not get that just purchased oil, at least on the current OCI.

Garage stock is 20x 5qt jugs of variety (0W-20, 5W-20, 5W-30) that I have no issues using in any of the vehicles so good for at least 1.5 years at current state. Filters for 5 covered for same time frame. The Sonata needs some cartridge filters stocked up, Jeep needs some filters.

I just checked oil bundle price at Advance Auto Parts with Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30 and that is also up $6. Mobil1 ESP 0W-30 makes it $1 cheaper, only up $5.

I use to keep a decent stock of oils for all my outdoor power equiptment and vehicles. But oil does age out, and additives do fall out. So I changed to keeping just enough for topping up if required, and buy what is required before each oil change.

Theres something to be said for using high quality oil and filters.

But theres also something to be said for using fresh oil that has not aged out, and had additives drop out.

Maybe not having a large stash will bite me in the future. But I doubt it.
Do you mean you’ve had oil become unusable because of age? I’m curious as to what oil and how long it took to get to the point of needing to be discarded.

Had a jug M1 Truck & SUV in my cart yesterday, went from $25 in the morning to $32 in the afternoon. Still cheaper than the $40+ everywhere else is charging, but still stings.

This morning I picked up four jugs of 0W-40 FS for $24.97 per. All four from January of this year. It’s interesting to me that Walmart has price differences this large. The last two 12qt boxes of the same oil were shipped to me from California and Nevada respectively.

After seeing this post, I ordered from Azn yesterday. They had my usuals at the lower prices . Azn cancelled the order overnight. The prices are now higher. Ordered rollback Edge from wally today to replace.
You’re right. I just checked. Amazon changed from $29.97 to $35.97 in a 12 hour period for VRP. Wow!!!

Yeah, I’m overseas and could not check my store - but it’s certainly starting to change …
I’m good for a year anyway …
