Walmart oil prices - Ah!

I keep enough oil for 1 more oil change each vehicle. When I need more I go to my local GMC/Honda dealer or auto parts. Walmart is a very last resort for anything and only if I'm desperate.

I get oil pricing that is always within a few bucks of the crime ridden warehouses like Costco and Walmart.

Just checked my local Walmart, the Mobil1 0w20 EP went from $29.97 to $34.97, it's a shame but I switched to Amsoil Signature, and they went up too. It will be interesting to see if, when oil prices drop and stabilize, the price will drop.....probably not 😠

It’ll be really interesting if the quick lube places don’t come back down in price. Could push more people into the DIY market, elevating the prices on this side even more.

Unfortunately I won't be going back to the DIY group, at 78 and some physical and logistics (live in a townhouse, no garage)problems. i still hand deliver my oil & filter to my Technician at my dealership. I do still change intake and cabin filters, and check and adjust tire pressures.
Fortunately I have enough oil and filters for 3 more changes.

3 days ago at my local Montana Walmart, I picked up the only 5qt jug of 5w-30 Valvoline Restore & Protect on the shelf for $29.97. There were many jugs of 5w-20 for the same price.
Today it is all $35.97 and I didn't see any 5w-30 (but did not climb to see what the non-faced jugs on the top shelf were.
Comes to a nice even 20%.

No shame in that, Speedy. You’re doing better than 99% of motorists.

Zon has 0w20 and 5w30 for $29.97 but 5w20 for $35.97, figured the rest will follow shortly. Needed a 5qt for my Honda coming soon, so I got 2, that will be a years worth probably, so hopefully it goes down by then, lol.

I see Amazon still has it for &29.97 or whatever.

I will say though that Walmart here in the middle of the ocean (Maui) doesn’t carry VRP but almost all their oils jumped up in price by $3-$4 since a week or two ago. Also the Kirkland oils over at Costco went from $38.99 to $42.99. 🤷‍♂️
