We've discussed it in the past. The reason for having 5.1 qt vs 5 is to make it difficult/impossible for consumers to attempt price match. You can't price match if the quantities are different, and therefore the product is different.


Exactly. They are different therefore price matching doesn't apply. I noticed that when the pennzoil specials are going on the jugs are 4.73 litres which is a bizarre quantity,but for 22 bucks a jug for pp I won't complain


4.73 liters = 5 US Quarts

AAP lists PP at $36.99 for their 5.1 qt. jug whereas Walmart has the 5 qt. PP for $22.47. That means you're paying $14.52 for that extra .1 quart. Maybe I'm not looking close enough, but how does that indicate less value on the Walmart end?

As an economics professor, I would have to say that you've made excellent use of marginal analysis. I'd give you an A for today's class.
