dblshock ^^^ , You live in a state with no emissions, yet I wonder how the Feds feel about an "illegal" vehicle being sold? That vehicle never really qualified to be sold in the U.S.
Maybe they could take them all to third world countries and sell them there. Bad PR, but a great idea.

Resales values will tank. It's not OK for VW to cheat the EPA no matter how any BITOG members feel about the EPA or the validity of global warming.

NOx emissions have nothing to do with "Global Warming". On the contrary, if you're concerned about "Global Warming", you should be applauding VW for making an engine that is more efficient to reduce CO2 emissions. You can have the best possible fuel economy or the lowest possible NOx emissions, not both. VW TDI's are reported by most owners to exceed their EPA rated fuel economy, and magazines like Car and Driver have reported the same. Maybe the fact that VW cheated on its emissions calibration is the reason why the TDI's get such good fuel economy.
