VW Buzz news

Nonsense. Retain a reasonable buffer to the vehicle in front and you won't have that issue. An EV with one-pedal drive begins decelerating as soon as the accelerator pedal is released. That means anytime you're not coasting or speeding up, you're automatically decelerating. If anything, that makes emergency stops safer, because the vehicle slows as soon as you identify the need to slow, before you actively transition to braking.

I run my Cadillac LYRIQ on High Regen and I’d generally agree. If I come off the accelerator quickly - like in a panic - it starts slowing instantly and noticeably.

I love One Pedal Driving, another thing that makes driving EVs so great vs. ICE.

Regen braking can be pretty strong, and my car is equipped with an Automatic Emergency Braking system designed to detect imminent collisions and brake autonomously to reduce the severity of an impact. Of course it will also flash dynamic brake lights to warn drivers behind me.
But there is a brake petal. finally cleared that up!
I think most new cars wont let you crash into the car in front of you if at least on cruise and wont let you run someone over when backing up. My wife and I tested that on each other :ROFLMAO:

Same with stale green light.
**** I hate you people. If the light turns yellow I will stop. If not, I drive the speed limit until it does. I calculate, using my BRAIN, at what point a potential yellow light can be stopped at and at what point I will be able to clear the intersection before the light turns red.

the problem is people don't actually just cover the brake, they literally slow down for a red light that does not exist.

Just please stay in the right lane if you are going to drive this way.

You need to take some driving classes. Everything I say is taught in every professional driving school. It’s sad you think you know better.

I've taken professional driving and racing school. You are speaking from the hole in your lower backside. Use the two foot driving method with an EV if this bothers you so much. If you've been to racing school you're already familiar with this approach. Yes it takes some real muscle training to smoothly brake left footed, but it can be done and it's even quicker than the asinine stuff you're spewing.

Keep talking down to people. It's a good look on you.

Maybe you took the wrong schools? Covering your brake pedal is well known whether you know it or not. Left foot braking doesn’t work with a clutch pedal. Unless you are Walter.

Here’s a simple video for you to watch.

Try the two foot method if you're going to drive an EV if you're so worried about this. If you're so well versed on driving you'd should be more than aware of side stepping the clutch using two feet while having throttle and brake control at the same time.

I'm well aware of covering the brake. The method with EVs is very different because you already get braking effect being off the pedal. If anything there's more effect than the coast and time to apply the brake than the regenerative effect when getting to the brake. You're just choosing to ignore this. Have you even driven a one pedal vehicle or are you just making assumptions? Any time you're on the throttle you're not covering the brake without the two foot method even with an ICE vehicle.

You're well versed in theory while ignoring reality.

Lol. You are a grandpa driver insisting on this "covering the brake". I really don't want to get behind you.

The car is already slowing when you take your foot off the accelerator in an EV. In practice I am slowing sooner.
I cover the brake pedal in demanding situations - like busy intersections. No way you can go off one and on the other as fast as someone already over it. Follow me around and you will never accuse me of being grandpa driver.

You seem to change your mind a lot. Watch the video, moving from the accelerator to the brake pedal is key, the entire point is it takes too much time, Iam not speaking from the hole from my backside. I have the best EV on the planet. Quit making excuses. EV makes no difference.

All of you "cover the brake" drivers must have never driven a one pedal EV if you think your hover over the brake method is faster than the car already braking while you get to the pedal.

Almost all of the time, if there are lights for the crosswalk, they are counting down-zero generally indicates a yellow light most of the time. So there’s plenty of warning!

The lifting of the accelerator pedal does not give 100% braking. Covering the brake pedal allows .75 second less reaction time when 100% braking is required. That is the point.

Red here means punch it, or if there are cars ahead of you, as long as you are only the 10th car through the red it's all good.
Left turn red light raunchy runners are the worst.
What's a poor boy to do?
It’s not limited to the West Coast-I’m perpetually sitting in an intersection, waiting to turn left using “clearance on yellow”-and they just keep running the red. Virtually no one running traffic here…

Yes, and it sucks. Cannot cover the brake pedal like a proper professional driver. You have an obvious misunderstanding of what covering the brake pedal means.
Jesus. Give it a rest. It's already braking before you can hit the pedal. It sucks to you because you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what is actually happening. It's braking before you can even touch the pedal hovering over the brake. I think we should actually have someone test out the stopping distance between this.

I'd love to know what you're doing approaching intersections that you need to emergency brake when approaching a stop. Do you have a tailgating problem? If someone pulls out in front of you are you already off the throttle when it happens? Describe the situation when you're covering the brake and coasting that is the difference between the accident and not that you are picturing in your head.

If it's a situation that you have the cruise set, then hovering over the brake is no different in an EV or ICE.

Yes and the regen is already retarding forward motion while you get to the physical brakes which was my point. It does buy that bit of time.
