VW Buzz news

It seems sales are growing more in EU/Asia.

VW sales chief Martin Sander believes the automaker's coming small full-electric cars will help close a profitability gap with combustion models. "We need this because we strongly believe the future is electric," he said. (VOLKSWAGEN)

"VW's huge investment in battery-electric vehicles has started to pay dividends. Europe’s top-selling brand has passed Tesla to become No. 1 in BEV sales through 10 months. Full-electric models account for 18.4 percent of VW brand’s overall sales in Europe, up from 12.3 percent last year. Sales boss Martin Sander expects the positive trend to continue in 2026, which he said will be highlighted by the arrival of the ID Polo. Starting at about €25,000 ($29,000), the ID Polo will be VW’s most affordable BEV, making it a key part of VW’s push to create margin and price parity between its BEVs and combustion cars."

The summary is that North America will let other nations do the beta testing and when we are really, really, ready to actually buy EV's then the ones we get will be better sorted, albeit in short supply because, well, because we sat on the pot too long.

The North American market has always been the red-headed stepchild in the eyes of VW. Otherwise, ALL cars would be ROW and not just the bland crap they give the NAR. Wanna make some money with the ID Buzz and send sales through the roof? Take out the battery and replace it with a good 2.0T. Waiting for this market to accept EVs they feel we will actually buy (or be able to afford buying) will be like waiting for the polar caps to melt.

Well that did not last long in the US. VW isn't shipping the Buzz to US dealerships in 2026. Only 6,096 were sold in the US for 2025. My local VW dealer still had about 6 in stock not long ago. I thought they were priced far to high for what they are.

VW is considering bringing them back in 2027 maybe with changes. It needs 200 more miles of range and weirdly enough I'm not sure why you can only get the seven seat option in rwd not awd. I've heard hybrid kicking around but don't know if that platform could even be made into a hybrid.

They're just too expensive for what you get and while I love VW, VW has struggled in the US for many years. They go through cycles where it looks like VW could completely pull out of the US market. They're not a consistent brand. When I wanted an EV I tried to find something with VW, but they don't make the car that appeals to me and most of their EV models aren't available in the US.

If anyone is interested, I have a Facebook ad for two brand new Volkswagen 2025 Buzz
$15,000 off the sticker price brings it into the mid to upper 40,000 range.
There doesn’t seem to be any games with that customer bonus cash as I clicked on the symbol next to the $7500 and it simply states USA residents I found the dealership link, it’s at the bottom of this post

ID.BUZZ is back for MY2027 in the USA!

NACS port, new software, new trims, colors and wheels. Adds One-Pedal-Driving.

“Camping fans can now rejoice as Volkswagen is now bringing the Tourer 4Motion trim stateside. This model will get a bunch of features straight out of the factory, including a fold-out mattress and a platform, along with window blinds and ventilation panels.

There’s also an “Overnight Mode” which will use the high-voltage battery to run functions like climate and the battery even when the vehicle itself is switched off. It will also come with a folding table and chair set.”

Pricing isn’t announced. I’d seriously consider one if it had a bigger battery. 231 miles EPA just doesn’t cut it, especially in the winter.

We have a few of them around our area and one is seen in our community often. Wife and I love the look. Well refined, very unique, nice lines, sharp.
Let be realistic it’s the price of all the larger EVs that are the challenge for much of the public without $15,000 discounts

Volkswagen really needs this across their entire EV line. Every time I see a high trim ID.4 for a good price I think, well maybe that wouldn't be bad, oh but for the lack of 1 pedal driving. It's one of things about EVs that would be hard, for me at least, to go back on.

Sure, I use my brake pedal when I need to, but many times I don't ever have to because our vehicles slow themselves down as soon as you let off the accelerator. I much prefer this method of driving.

This is a lot more palatable, it's similar to something like a Sienna XLE list price, and I guarantee there aren't any any discounts forthcoming in my area on Siennas. The dealers will tell you they're 6 months out on Siennas and there are none on the lots. I looked at them after we rented one for a long road trip in CA in 2023.

Does it really not have one pedal? I know there was a switch for higher regen, but when I last drove an ID.4 was when we were buying our first Tesla and I wasn't fully in on the one pedal method yet.
