VW 508 Liqui Moly or Motul?

Lol, yes I know what you talking about.
But, post indicates like it has 507, which it doesn’t.
And that was not dye, it was Kettjenlube, an additive made by Kyocera at that time. When they sold it to LukOil, Castrol stopped using it.
Well I was being facetious. I know GC isn't 507. Lol

If I do tune it which I intend to do. I should probably use 507 instead the standard for the Golf R which is 0w30.

In tuned engines I like heavier stuff. Check Mobil1 ESP 0W40 Xsomething (I lost track is it X3, 4 or 5). The one with VW511.00 approval. 511 is basically 507 in 40 grade.

As it’s funny you can’t seem to understand the answers.

And it’s “tail”.

🤦‍♀️
I purposely did "tale". Read the definition. They're sticking to their true narrative or Story.
It's funny you can't seem to understand that I do understand the answer. ;)

Surely you aren't saying Liqui Moly is not adequate or Motul?

What is your answer to OP question...? go ahead.

Funny you mention that, Here's my last reply to you.

I've read that Magnesium reduces fuel economy vs Calcium.
Source for that?

Crickets ever since.
What motor oils have an all magnesium detergent additive package?
Also what is substantially lower? 1%? 5%? .25%?
how much lower is it in a normal formulation that includes magnesium?
*Crickets*
I have you on ignore, but I check the ignored posts button occasionally... When I feel like giving myself a Picard style double facepalm.

I see why you wear a helmet In case some BITOG's see those tags it'll be an instant dogpile. LOL
How dare you not fly the MOTUL flag "Equally". 🤣

It is amusing to see the wild reactions as I'm sure you've seen plenty. OP has been around for 20 years so i'm sure they're smart enough to discern the responses here.

OP: What did you decide?

I was using Motul's high-temp RBF600 brake fluid for several years so had sticker for that too haha. Currently using Endless, no contest, Motul stinks in comparison! My rock-hard pedal confirms it. The 600 always got a pedal feel change after just one hard session. Endless says hold my beer.

Answered in post #2. There is no significant difference between the two, buy which ever one is cheapest.

Your imaginary distinction based upon the marketing blurb was answered by Overkill.

Oil is about the only thing I don't get from FCP Euro with the LRG. Just ends up being somewhat costly due to weight (even with PirateShip) and the added hassle of packaging it all back up for return. The small extra I pay for oil from Wally, Amazon, etc. outweighs the hassle for me as far as oil goes. I do use LRG for other, less often used fluids though, and of course filters. That all said, I would get the Mobil 1 ESP X2 0W-20 for around $28 at Walmart. Or better yet, the 0W-30 M1 ESP for same money. NOT trying to start another 508 vs. 504 etc. battle, Just saying what I would do. YMMV.
I ordered their redline 5w30 which seems to be a knockout awesome oil for my B58. Prepaid USPS Large box I think is about $18. I put a quick drain on the bottom with a hose attachment that makes filling the bottles up super easy and wasn't any different than me having to haul my oil to Autozone to dump. I'll change it every 5k like I have been for now. I've been doing QS Euro which has been great and no reason to change outside of me having the itch to see what's better. At first it was Amsoil but worked my way around to really see that I liked what was in Redline. I'll do 7 quarts at a time and figure if I need a little I'll just grab one my many jugs of random oils sitting in the garage and just topoff whatever I need to send back lol. The question is if I can fit the darn filter in. Will be tight. But $20 an oil change for everything will be pretty gnarly. It was a tossup between the Redline 5w30 and Liqui Moly because sooooo many Bemmers out there say it runs smooth on it but it looks like LM doesn't hold it's grade as well and is definitely a cheaper built oil. But again, at 5k intervals, I'm all for it also. Should Redline be a pain to get my hands on in the future I have no issue stepping down to LM Molygen.

And in a case like this, I would definately go through the added "hassle" for "free" $17 a quart oil that I was going to dump every 5K. This is where FCP shines for stuff like this and folks would be nuts not to take advantage of it. However, for me, and my lowly VWs, fill the extractor and take the whole canister to the local dump (along with various other stuff I have to get rid of anyway), then stop at Wally on the way back for some more M1 and Slim Jims 😁.

Thing is no one says you have to own a BMW/Merc/Porsche to order from there. Anything I drive pretty regularly should be more than happy with the quality of a redline oil. Might order some more to toss in my John Deere 825i ATV and my 11yr old 2500HD 6.0l gasser with 226k miles and most of being towing. Figure the higher ester would help clean it up.

How much is your return shipping? is it worth it vs $28 m1 esp X2 at walmart?
For me to send back the oil in their box with Pirateship it’s $18. Houston to Connecticut I think it was. I will say they like on their package size lol. I measured it and put in closer numbers. Just rounding down. 9.5” to 9”.

Both in the 0w20 flavor from FCP Euro since I am going to invest in their return program.

There is a minimal price difference.
What motor? Motul has some spec specific oil. There’s also Fuchs and Pentosin. I’m still reading on them but Fuchs looks like a very nice oil. I like their Titan Pro/Flex and Supersyn long life products. Seems to be very tailored to manufacturer specifications. The more I dig into liqui moly, and I really have wanted to like them, the numbers just don’t seem as good. But there’s always that thing out there numbers can’t tell you. BMW forums are filled with people sweating by it saying their motor runs smoother, quieter, and gets better mpg. I almost pulled the trigger but couldn’t ignore the redline package so decided to give RL a try. I change every 5k miles so it works fine for me.

M1 is $28 at Walmart. And I think my filters are like $7 at the dealer. FCP Euro simply isn’t worth the hassle for inferior oil.
