My Cayman Is coming due for an oil change. I was using Motul 8100 but it seems it lost its C40 spec. Going to switch to Liquid Moly Top Tech 4110. Any real issues, car is street driven only. I usually purchase from FCP as they sell a kit with filter and plug.

TopTec from FCP will be cheaper, since you can return it for store credit. I spend $19 for 7L of TopTec and a filter.
Depending on your loc, sure. Their AZ warehouse does not accept returns and shipping 6-8 qt of oil across the country (even using shippo or pirate ship) isn’t cost effective.

I’m in houston an 7l of redline and a filter I can return for $20. Doesn’t get better than that. I do 5k changes. I literally can’t find a better oil.

ESP X4 is a much better oil in my opinion. If I owned a Porsche I would use it over any oil that isn’t a true boutique like HPL / Motul 300V.

as usual , you ask for info for a specific oil and you get no info about that, instead you will get suggestions for another oil.i will like to know about that oil too, since we dont have esp x4 availiable in south europe.i have asked before about its hths,if there is an info somewhere in the net since LM provides only the minimum HTHS.i dont think it is 3.5 as 40 oils start from 3.6 usually.

It's just a typical low saps (ACEA C3) in a 40 grade with the typical euro approvals which revolve around C3. You would never have any issues with an oil which has the applicable approvals.

Specifications / Approvals: ACEA C3, API SN, BMW Longlife-04, MB-Freigabe 229.31/229.51/229.52, Porsche C40, VW 511 00

He asked if there was any issues with it. Everyone is saying yes, there’s better.

It meets the specs though, so by definition there’s nothing wrong with it even if it’s not my preferred option.
If it meets spec, it’s on the bottle, then why be here in the first place? It’s expensive so is it worth the price? I’ve ran different oils that meet spec in my B58 and each ran differently than the one prior with Red Line being much smoother.

That was my point. He asked his question already knowing it meets spec and I’m a firm believer not all are the same. Again I’ve run four different oils that all claim the same spec and Redline is the best (it’s not approved for a spec but they recommend it). I also put in a quart of motorkote. All my own personal experiences but it’s more than just splitting hairs.
