VQ35DE Question.

My wifes Quest van with 3.5 had a hard start situation that ended up being an easy fix.
Throttle body was filthy, unplugged the electrical connectors, cleaned it up with carb/throttle body cleaner, plugged it back in and all good since.
The electronic throttle bodies have kind of a high idle setting during cranking and if they get dirty they sometimes seem to stick all the way closed.

Good to know. . .

My wife's 2007 M35 only has 117,000 miles, but in the last 6 months I've had to replace both air intake hoses likely due to life in a hot North Carolina climate. It's worth checking yours for any small cracks. Sorry I don't have any more advice.

When I replaced the cam and crank sensors I actually found both air intake hoses torn, replaced both with leftovers of intake pipes I had in the garage. The plastic piece had a crack too. So a few metal intake pipes and silicone couplers got in there. Free fix, looks good, works great so far.

Bottle or 2 of your favorite PEA containing Fuel Injector Cleaner, remove the intake tube and clean the throttle blade with brake clean and blue paper towels, then remove the MAF Sensor and clean with a MAF sensor cleaner. Worked for my 2013 Maxima with the VQ35DE.
