I went through every major brand's Product Data Sheet (PDS) to document viscosities. The ones in bold do not have PDS that I could find, so I listed viscosities from VOAs for those. Sorted from high to low.

Take a look at viscosity index number next time. And volatility, which will affect viscosity over time.

I'm surprised to see Castrol Edge and Castrol Edge EP in both OW-20 and 5W-20 grades at the low end.
8.20 and 8.18
I got a tiny Ford Ecosport with 1.0L EcoBoost. I drive above average mileage and do use this vehicle for light towing purposes as it is rated for it.

Ford specs 5W-20 oils and I've been using a full synthetic OW-20 in all of my Ford vehicles. I switched from Mobil1 to Castrol Edge oil after learning that Ford worked with Castrol directly in developing a European spec oil for this 1.0L EB before it even went into production.

I thought it was all a marketing gimmick but I'm liking the Mobil 1 Truck and SUV oil especially since it seems it's on the higher end of all those viscosity numbers since I prefer to use OW-20 over 5W-20 oil.
One of the selling points of the Mobil Truck and SUV oil is it has 10% more detergents or whatever to clean and keep deposits from building up. That's got be good for those tiny turbocharger bearings.

Oil noob here, what are we suppose to learn from this chart
There is a range of acceptable viscosities within each grade. If, for example, your car is known to fuel dilute and you want to try to mitigate that while continuing to use the grade your vehicle recommends, you might pick an oil with a thicker viscosity to give it more chance of staying in grade by the time the oil change interval is complete. If your car is known to keep its oil's viscosity while in use and you want to maximize fuel economy, you might pick an oil on the thinner end of the spectrum.

Thank you! So the higher number here means that it's a thicker viscosity

Some of these may have changed since last year when you originally wrote this up. One is particular that I noticed is the M1 EP 0W20 / 5W20 since I use that.
M1 EP 0W20 = 8.8
M1 EP 5W20 = 8

OW20 is a little thicker than the 5W20.
