I know lifted and perfectly stable don't go in the same sentence often, but Jeeps tend to be ok in the rollover department, so they're still pretty safe.

I had a buddy from iceland who used to run 38" tires when he used it for snow plowing in the winter (up in maine)...

fairly certain his crazy contraption was something that's common place in iceland.... but was definitely extraordinary in maine.

he could run the tires with as low as 3psi on beadlocks

but you do increase chances for a blowout, be careful about over inflation too

Had a friend with one. Went up on 2 wheels taking a 50Km/h turn in town at 60Km/h.
 
Took the truck to the shop the other day. They said there was slight wear in the upper and lower ball joints but for no more than I was using it it should be fine for for some time. they did find a large amount of mud caked up on the inner left front wheel. They removed all the mud, rotated the tires and had to balance all 4 wheels. It is doing fine now. I am starting another post on changing water pump. Please read and give any advice. Thanks!
 
I can confirm these suspicions. I own a 2007 Dodge 1500 MegaCab 4WD. The suspension is identical to that of the 2500 and 3500, except it has just-ever-so-slightly smaller springs.

I bought it used last year. When I bought it I noticed two of the tires were new. I has Toyo Open Country 285/70-R17. While doing one of my regular checks I noticed that the tire pressures were all at 55 PSI. Reading the rear (new) tires, I found out they were P rated and required 35 PSI. Assuming they were all the same, I deflated them all to 35 PSI. This is when the death-shake started.

At interstate speeds, and sometimes around 60 MPH, when I'd go over a bridge threshold or uneven "new" asphalt, the entire front end would bounce so hard it hurt my kidneys... and wouldn't stop until I got it under 50 MPH. Very scary when you're in the inside lane and there's a tractor trailer beside you!

I took it back to the dealership and they determined I was due for a recall repair. After the new steering damper was installed I headed back out to the place the bounce happened consistently. And it nearly threw me into the median. Bounced so hard my tailgate came open.

Got it home and looked at the suspension thoroughly. No leaking shocks, everything tightened and no signs of rubbing. Checked the tires and realized my folly. The front tires were LT rated and required 55 PSI. Inflated those to 55 and not problem since.... till now.

Just rotated the tires last weekend, so now the P rated's are on the front. Loaded up my boat and headed to the river. went over the bridge threshold that it always happened at and nearly hit the side of the bridge while trying to control the bounce. Pulled over and inflated the P rated tires to 50 PSI and not a problem... except that they are dangerously over-inflated.

Needless to say I'm in need of purchasing 2 new LT rated tires. Been over a year since I purchased it so I don't think the dealership will apologize for being cheap and installing unsafe tires on my truck... especially after I've put 18k miles on them while they were on the back axle. Hope this helps someone before it becomes a dangerous situation.
