Call Filter

Answer with confidence

Hi Ati,
Your Fios Digital Voice or Fios Home Phone line will soon include Call Filter. It's a free service that helps protect you from unwanted robocalls by alerting you to high risk spam calls and automatically blocking the potential fraud calls. Calls that are blocked by Call Filter can be viewed on your Blocked Calls page.
This service will automatically be turned on. You can turn off call blocking at any time by following the steps below.
1.
Log into your My Verizon.com
2.
Go to the “Manage your phone” section
3.
Scroll down and click on “Call Filter”
4.
Select “Blocked Call Setting” and click “Deactivate" to turn off Call Filtering
Please note that Call Filter may accidentally block wanted calls. If this happens you can report blocking errors here.

Is this a good thing? I do get a lot of annoying, "Do you want to sell your property" or "Our solar panel installers will be in your area" type of calls, but would be afraid a important legitimate call might be blocked.

Probably a good thing.

My dad has had a feature for several years where the caller has to press 8 in order to be passed through.

With modern technology, I wouldn't be surprised if it was fairly accurate.
