I switched my daughter's 2010 CR-V over to Valvoline Restore and Protect last fall. At 150K miles, her oil dipstick has some varnish and I can see some varnish through the oil fill.Hello, my name is Matt and first time posting. I’ve been a looker for a while and enjoy the content on this site. I’m a car guy, I have a several cars and maintain them as well as my kids. After reading this thread for a while I decided I have a few cars that are Valvoline Restore and Protect candidates. First is a new to my oldest daughter, a 2018 Honda CRV 1.5 engine with 100k, unknown maintenance history but I believe mostly highway driving in New Mexico. When she got it and I checked the oil and there was a lot of varnish on the dipstick. I changed the oil with Valvoline Restore and Protect so I’m curious how it will do. She doesn’t drive much loves about 3 miles one way to work so it will get 2-3k miles a year I bet. I’ll monitor it and report back. My second candidate will be in a second post probably at the end of the week.
I checked her oil over the weekend and no change yet. Her Oil Life Monitor is only at 90%, so she hasn't driven the car much. It's going to be a long test of Valvoline Restore and Protect in this car.
