Well if the Valvoline Restore and Protect says +4 on a data sheet from Valvoline, I'd personally have no concerns.
Also I very much doubt you'd do damage short term. If you don't like how it shifts, redo it. I also put a pan with drain on my non-profit's '12 545RFE. I got 2 gallons out letting it drip overnight with no pan installed when I just did the service. I used an UltraPower pan from RA = inexpensive and I think it's just Dorman with a different label (same part #)
Before this, years ago, I used the Cam2 +4 (seems mostly NLA). So it's now got a mix of old Cam2 and two fresh gallons O'Reilly Global. 191k on the odometer with 5.7 Hemi

And I agree if something is under warranty, maybe best to stay with a dedicated +4
